* Throughout most of the story, Ben Peck has been treated a senile old man who is paranoid over his neighbor spying on him. As the mystery unravels, it turns out that he was mostly ''completely'' right about his neighbor, Snabel, who was a former airline engineer who wanted to sell US secrets to other countries.

* Eleanor Hess has been infantilized and taken advantage of her nasty aunt and uncle. In a moment of clarity, she stands up to them and calls them out on their behavior, threatening to take legal action to get the house left in her name since her parents died.

** In an odd note of bravery, the reason why Pete got taken hostage in the first place is that he thought he felt brave enough to confront the window smasher himself. It didn't pan out as planned, but it is unusual thing for Pete to be so brave, but just as awesome the same.

* Sam Ragnarson ends up using his motorcycle to drive the Three Investigators off the road on their bikes in revenge for 'being liars' and he drives Jupe and Bob off the road, Furious at the man for hurting his friends, Pere turns to face the motorcycle ''on his bike'' armed with [[ImprovisedWeapon a fallen branch]]. Upon seeing Pete stand his ground, Sam Ragnarson decides its not worth the trouble and finally leaves them alone.

* Just a few moments later, when masked men breaks into Bob's house, Pete does his famous flying tackle and manages to knock down the guy trying to steal the photos, Bob joining in to help too. The masked man manages to get away, but Pete managed to steal back the photos.

* When Skinny Norris unties the boat house the boys are investigating, they are in real danger of shooting over a waterfall. When Jupiter has no idea what to do, in a moment of pure awesome, it's ''Pete'' who confidently takes over. He orders Jupe and Bob to push everything to the back of the boat, which stops the boat from going over. He also uses a rope to lasso a tree on the bank, making sure that Bob and Jupe make it across before he makes his own escape (which cinematically coincides with the boathouse falling over the dam).
* Pete gets taken hostage by Roger Callow, who also has the jewels from the riddle, he doesn't just go quietly. While Callow is distracted trying to back away from the police, he hooks his foot around Callow's ankle and shoves backward. this topples both him and Callow off the gangplank, causing the man to drop the gun and the jewels. Pete manages to catch the bag of jewels ''in mid-air'' and manages flip over to safely dive into the water whereas Callow ends up breaking his leg due to the fall. If there is ever a moment to display Pete's athletic prowess, this is it.

* Allie being one of the very few people who was able to find her way into the Investigators' headquarters. She doesn't know all the entrances, but its enough to surprise all three of the boys.

* After getting marooned on a small island off in sea, the Jupiter and Pete manage to fashion a makeshift boat to get them back to shore. With the help of Pete's nautical skills, the two are able to make it back in time to catch the thief.

** In an incredible act of kindness, Gus basically buys a lifetime permanent membership with Worthington's rental service company for the Investigators, meaning that now the Investigators can rent the Rolls Royce for the rest of their lives. He might have had a small role in this story online, but Gus' kindness continues to get mentioned to ''this'' day, after almost fifty years of the Three Investigators (including the German release).

* Pete's quick thinking of drawing a question mark off a window he was trying to rappel down to signal to Bob that something had gone wrong.
* Jupe and Peter are captured by the perpetrators and put into sacks, leaving for Hans and Bob to go on a car chase to save them. They end up breaking down the pier gates with one of the salvage yard trucks to get them in time.

** In an incredible act of kindness, Gus basically buys a lifetime permanent membership with Worthington's rental service company for the Invstigators, meaning that now the Investigators can rent the [=RollsRoyce=] for the rest of their lives. * In a last ditch effort to evade capture, Jupiter gets the idea to ring the bell of Prince Paul to cause the citizens of Varnia to revolt and rise up against Duke Stefan to save their crown prince.

* When Allie is about to get attacked by a Rattlesnake, Pete chucks a rock at it and nails it in the head, allowing Allie to back away safely.

** One extremely noble thing about their detective agency is that they ''never'' take payment (they also legally can't because they're too young, but morally they won't either). In fact, it's ''costing'' them to run the agency. Between maintaining phone & internet and the funds they use for their research, Jupe often mentions how low their 'treasury' during cases. All three boys have to [[HeroismWontPayTheBills work part time or do chores to get enough money]] to keep solving mysteries. Sometimes they do complain about the extra work, but in reality, they don't mind. Not taking money means that they can assist clients who may not have the funds to hire a licensed detective, and a lot of them are grateful for the help. They do accept rewards very occasionally (most of them material and not monetary), but don't solve the mystery for the money. All three boys are very big mystery lovers and just solve mysteries because they just enjoy the [[InHarmsWay thrill of solving them]] and [[GoodSamaritan just want to help others]].

* The fact that three kids (teenagers later) are able to solve real world crime. The Investigators' resume incredibly impressive, from stopping smugglers, robbers, and even their own government. It's to a point where the Chief of Police of Rocky Beach, Samuel Reynolds, has given them an Official Badge that acknowledges them as volunteer Junior Detectives, wishing they could hire them into the force. Despite the fact that their cases get harder and more dangerous as the series goes on, the three of them always rise to the challenge.

** Pete might not have the [[BookDumb smarts or thinking skills]] of his two peers, but what he lacks in brain, he [[TheBigGuy makes for in brawn]] and [[ExtracurricularEnthusiast athletic skill]]. He plays all sorts of sports: track, basketball, football, surfing, skiing, rock climbing, karate (where he is a black belt), just to name a few. In fact, he is his school's ace player in ''every sport'' except short distance swimming. In addition to all the sports training, he also knows much about wilderness survival (having been a Boy Scout), sailing, scuba diving, and more. Being so athletic means that Pete is also [[StealthExpert very stealthy and light on his feet]], usually being the one designated for sneaking around. Pete is also an incredible [[TheDriver driver]] and is the best out of the three, knowing how to tail, chase, and had saved them all from crashing on multiple occasions. On a smaller note, he has some understanding of [[AnimalLover animals]] and once stopped a tamed lion that had escaped its cage in a circus. At some point, he picked up [[MasterOfUnlocking lockpicking]] skills and is proficient enough that he can use [[ImprovisedLockpick salvaged tools]]. He's a [[TheSoCalledCoward little timid, but is always willing to push through his anxiety and fear to protect his friends]].

* Similar to his time in ''Späte Rache'', Pete spends the climax of the story shirtless after he uses the shirt to go down an elevator shaft.
** Anne, who was suffering from an illness, realizing that the military were going to catch up to them, uses the Explorer to ram the Motana and capsizes them. Then it's revealed that her name is actually Anne ''Hadden'' and she's the younger sister to the Hadden siblings. She's had enough of them and had snuck onto the expedition with the intention to sabotage.

** Jupiter Jones himself is a textbook example of a TeenGenius and a master of BatDeduction. Armed with PhotographicMemory, Jupe is able to completely unravel a mystery with what seems like only a handful of inconclusive evidence; most of the time, he's completely ''right''. He completely baffles both his peers and adults alike with his intelligence and investigative skills. And his intelligence isn't his only skills, he is a MasterActor whose acts and impressions fool almost anyone. Jupiter is so self-assured and confident that he scares and intimidates even adults.
