* In the Kid Chilleen's episode, the female owner who would often get drunk (to the point that she didn't even remember meeting Jon Taffer the previous day) is told by Taffer that he would leave if she had any alcohol when he was there. During a bad stress test and some clear signs of alcohol withdrawal, a group of regulars tries to get her to drink with them. She flat-out refuses. Even Taffer was impressed with this.
** Her husband too also deserves a mention. Like her, he was also going through withdrawal symptoms during the stress test, having nervous handshakes while trying to make and serve drinks. However, he pushes through without stopping, even managing to take up some of the slack left behind by the bartender Yum Yum's RageQuit. By the night of the relaunch, he's managed to stay sober and is working confidently behind the bar.
*** And the family's awesomeness continues on with their daughter, also a bartender there. While she wasn't dealing with drinking problems like her parents, she does prove how much she cares for her family. She works well together with them, and doesn't complain once, regardless of how difficult things got, and is clearly having fun. This family seems to be a source of Crowning Moments of Heartwarming, Awesomeness, and {{Determinator}} together.
** In another episode, one of the bartenders is caught drinking behind the bar, and she's instructed to clean up or get fired. She also has clear symptoms of alcohol withdrawal but [[{{Determinator}} pushes through]] the entire stress test anyway. Moreover, she manages to keep a smile on her face and serve her drinks accurately and quickly. Considering [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alcohol_withdrawal the symptoms of alcohol withdrawal syndrome]], that's ''really'' impressive.
* Any time Taffer rips into the owners of a bar who endanger his family, the experts, or his staff. You ''do not'' mess with his family (which he has said is how he views his crew).
** Exemplified in the [=ZanZBar=] episode. Taffer practically goes nuclear and nearly starts a fight with owner Ami after the latter calls his culinary expert Brian Duffy a "fat boy". Bonus points for his reaction being left ''uncensored''.
--->'''Taffer:''' '''''YOU DISRESPECTFUL SON OF A [[PrecisionFStrike BITCH]]!'''''
** Similarly, Taffer laying into the owners of Undisputed after a brawl the previous night (caused by the violent atmosphere the owners' bad decisions created) that resulted in several crew members being physically assaulted.
* From Headhunters, Taffer's opening line before he starts showing how unsanitary it is:
--> '''Taffer:''' Let's show what happens when a moron defends failure!
* Mia Mastroianni absolutely owning Greg Hawkins, owner of the 38th Floor (formerly Mandala Lounge) in a drink-making challenge after he made a tack about female bartenders behind the bar. The woman can bite as well as she barks.
* Jesse's turnaround at "The Underworld". He was on thin ice with Taffer for his misogynistic attitude and horrendous [=BevIntel=] numbers. Taffer gives him a chance to prove himself during Stress Test, and performs exactly how you'd expect. He's about to quit, but decides he doesn't want to embarrass himself by doing so. Out of nowhere, he's suddenly pouring perfectly and giving the customers a great experience, impressing Taffer in the process. Taffer himself is even amazed by how many girls Jesse brought despite it earlier being implied he repelled them when one blocked his number. Any failures by that point are the fault of owners by not having enough change in the cash drawer or glasses.
** Fellow bartender Tracy had one of the lowest [=BevIntel=] numbers in the show's history with only 44 ''cents'' given away.
* While the unsanitary conditions at the Artful Dodger (from the first episode of Season 4, "Bug Bites") were horrendous, we do manage to get a Moment of Awesome from the owner. He's [[EatThat dared to take a shot of liquor]] [[MasochistsMeal full of fruit flies]] by Taffer... ''and he does.'' Disgusting, sure, but at least he put his money where his mouth was.
* In "Hostile Takeover," Taffer challenges Jerry to point out why he shouldn't be fired. Jerry makes a surprisingly good case, pointing out that while he may come in drunk, neither of the other two owners come in ''at all'', putting all the work on him. The other two owners agree that if he stops drinking, they'll help out more. During the stress test, Jerry owns up to his responsibilities and manages to put on a good showing while the other two owners fold.
* The Turtle Bay episode. Taffer rescues a bar on Bourbon Street which [[ShoddyKnockoffProduct blatantly rips off]] the bar across the street and its signature drink. The result? Spirits on Bourbon, which draws over ''a million dollars a year'' thanks to the new Resurrection drink and skeleton cup, barber chair shots, and a haunted theme. By the WhereAreTheyNow episode, they've created a skeleton mascot, worn out enough barber chairs to fill a storage unit, and bought a custom hearse which doubles as a Mardi Gras parade float, and the owner has made enough money to invest in several properties along Bourbon Street ''and'' a delivery truck in the form of a hearse. According to Spirits's website, they've even been able to open a new Turtle Bay location elsewhere in New Orleans which captures the essence of the original.
* Moon Runners Saloon reported plans to open a ''second location.'' Guy Wavra opted for a food truck instead (similar to what his younger sister Alex would go on to do).
* The owners of Murphy's Law decided to sell the bar off at the height of its success. They used the money to pay off their debts.
** Some of the pictures that appeared on the wall at the relaunch were of the structural decay underneath their floorboards.
* Jonny, a former Canyon Inn staff member, bought up a competing bar in the area. He assures Jon that a rescue will never be necessary.
* Taffer ripping Paul, the owner of Gipsy, when they first meet:
--> '''Taffer:''' I've been watching you abuse your employees, disrespecting people—\
'''Paul:''' [[NeverMyFault Yeah, because they suck!]]\
'''Taffer:''' [[ArmorPiercingQuestion But they work for you, so if they suck, it's your fault, isn't it?]]
* The stress test during the Fort One/The Roc episode goes uncharacteristically smoothly. Bartender Ashley, having been identified as the strongest employee in the establishment, is left alone to tend bar on the upper level while all the other bartenders work the lower floor. Ashley performs so well that, near the end of the episode, Taffer invites her to come back to help him rescue a bar on a future episode. He also pays for her to go to bartending school, and she becomes one of his expert mixologists.
--> '''Ashley:''' Stress test, pssh!
* JJ, the owner of the Triple Nickel Tavern, harasses his staff and beats up his manager during the initial recon. Taffer calls him out by [[FoodSlap throwing ice water in his face]], forcing him to get on the floor like he did to the manager and asking him how it feels to be bullied.
* Dirty Red was very much ThePigpen of Joe's Thirsty Lizard -- his neglect and miseducation had left the kitchen a complete and utter cesspit. But when Jon has Mike threaten to sack him if he doesn't clean the place, he wises up almost immediately, working the whole evening up until sunrise to make the place -- and himself -- pristine. Not only that, he manages to get himself into fresh clothing and out onto the floor right under the buzzer. Bonus points to Mike for not being remotely perturbed by the sight of him using the dish area to wash himself up.
** And the chef's jacket he gets presented with at the opening of The Iron Horse reads: Clean Red! The man [[EarnYourHappyEnding earned it all.]]
* Jon is talking to the staff of The Hooch, with his mixologist and chef present. He asks one of the bartenders how long she's been a bartender, to which she answers (in a flustered but GenreSavvy tone) three of the four years she's actually worked there.
--> '''Jon:''' Don't look scared, I'm not gonna bite you.\
'''Chandra''' ''(not missing a beat)'': She might enjoy it, though.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N1_zYjtk9wg And then he lets Chandra have it with both barrels.]]
* For the stress test, the Crossroads Grille managed to get every single one of its drink and food orders filled. (Not a large crowd, but still sizable for its position.) Nothing sent back, no incorrect orders, and only minimal confusion between the sides. The kitchen got the last order out just under the 20-minute buzzer. As one of the few where Taffer didn't have to order a shutdown, the employees each received $100 for their success. (Then again, the Gaddys got rid of two problematic bartenders beforehand, which many owners would not have done until immediately following the stress test.)
%% * The relaunch of Sam Jordan's.
* The "Back to the Bar" episode that showed Piratz Tavern (which was the Corporate Bar and Grill for barely an evening) having zero customers during the evening. He might have been SirSwearsALot and no less critical of Taffer, but even Juciano recognized that asking for a re-rescue in the wake of their blatant destruction of all his tools (Tracy's idea) was not going to be well-received by the ''Bar Rescue'' crew. Just as Tracy had absolutely zero hesitation about the idea, Juciano (and especially poor Zoe) had absolutely zero hesitation about questioning whether they were worthy of another chance.
* The owner in "Dugout", despite being forced into the business thanks to his former tenant not paying rent, manages to evaporate any viewer sympathy he could otherwise inspire by instead turning out to be one of the worst owners in the show's history. Despite his best employee proving herself, he neglects to follow up on his promise to promote her. His immensely disrespectful, callous, uncaring attitude to his staff extends to his customers as he serves drinks that are flat-out offensive (a Hot Pussy Shot) and food he knows is contaminated. He drinks in front of Taffer's experts, and tells them they don't know what they're talking about. One by one his employees realize he's a lost cause and quit. In the coup-de-grâce moment, the owner arrives at the relaunch uninvited and wasted. All his remaining employees and Taffer himself give up on him, walk out, and tell the customers not to waste their time with him. In the only failed relaunch ever, the owner walks into his failed bar wasted and still in utter delusion about where the fault really lies.
** Amazingly, despite everything that happened it seems the owner actually learned something as the place against all odds is still open at a different location which is pretty impressive as even some of Jon's best rescues haven't stayed open.
* At The Bridge Lounge, a successful bar was run down after the BP Oil Spill and the death of the owner. The son clearly didn't mourn properly and allowed himself to be taken advantage of by his "[[WithFriendsLikeThese friend]]" [[LazyBum Garry]]. From the beginning, everybody, the audience, Manny's relatives, and Jon Taffer himself can see right through Garry as a manipulator, fraud, and worthless hack. Everyone puts him in his place as he feebly attempts to justify his failure. Throughout the episode, Manny blames himself clearly out of grief, but through Jon's and his family's encouragement, he finally grows a spine after Garry's lackadaisical attitude during the stress test and fires his ass.
* Chung Ong's story of how he chased the American dream managing to own no less than 4 businesses before he turned 30 in "Fish Out of Blue Water". Even if the bar failed in the long run, you know that with his work ethic and ambition, he'll be back on his feet in no time.
* Jon intervenes on behalf of an employee at the infamous O-Face Bar after its abusive manager launches an unprovoked attack on her. The infuriated Taffer issues an ultimatum to the owners: fire the manager immediately or else Taffer shall not rescue the bar. When they instead fire the girl who was attacked, Taffer nearly follows through on his vow. He's only persuaded back when the owners reluctantly fire the manager. When their ongoing personal drama and abusive practices do not stop, Taffer hits back with a full investigation of the bar's history, confronting the owners with a video showing them attacking their own bartender and offering their security money to rough him up further. Taffer [[TheReasonYouSuckSpeech royally rips them a new one]] for every single one of their criminal acts and [[KnowWhenToFoldEm absolutely refuses to help any further beyond this point-of-no-return to rescue the bar.]] [[Recap/KitchenNightmaresS6E15AmysBakingCompany Sound familiar?]]
-->'''Taffer:''' You guys are a mess. My tolerance for an owner hitting an employee is ''zero.'' You have no responsibility. ''None''. You see, I have a reputation, and I have to protect it! And you will destroy it, just like you destroyed your own. [[MoralEventHorizon The ultimate coup de grâce is an owner hitting an employee]]. I am not gonna rescue a bar, and then read the newspaper that somebody got hurt here next week. I won't have any part of it. Since I have been here, you guys have proven to me that you don't have the fundamentals to begin running this business, '''and''' proved to me how irresponsible you are. So here's the deal: [[ScrewThisImOuttaHere I'm leaving. I am not rescuing your bar.]] My advice to you is this, as another human being: you need some help. And you need to pull your lives together, and then maybe you can save your business. You need a counselor, not a bar professional, but I'm done. This is the first Bar Rescue I've ever walked out of. You blew it! I'm gone. Goodnight.
** A "Back to the Bar" segment shows that, for all their other shortcomings, Matt was at least willing to step up and duly deal with a troublesome customer that had been haranguing the pair of recon spies.
* A similar instance occurs in "Hideaway From Reality" when even after giving up on the bar, Jon goes back to show the staff that they did, in fact, call the owner the town drunk and then lied to him. The staff is at a complete loss for words, knowing they can't deny the video evidence. Before he leaves, Jon calls them out for putting pride and loyalty ahead of the business and the bar owner's wellbeing.
