** The game has many doors which can only be opened using one of the three [[{{BFG}} high tech weapons]]. This wouldn't necessarily be a problem except that said weapons can only be obtained in the Brother fortresses, and Brother 2 and 3 both require super weapons from the earlier Brothers to open certain doors which are necessary to complete the level, meaning if you do them out of order you will get stuck midway through and be unable to complete them, which [[InventionalWisdom raises the obvious question of why they even programmed the game to let you do them out of order in the first place.]]

** In combination with the levels and the armor, this makes many Mooks IncrediblyDurableEnemies, making it very unfun to fight them.

** In combination with the levels and the armor, this makes many Mooks IncrediblyDurableEnemies, making it very unfun to fight them. Later patches would reduce the damage reduction effect of the armor system, so that enemies are now reasonably killable even with the "incorrect" ammo type, though using the correct ammo is still more effective.

** If you die, your ammo doesn't refresh when you are sent back to a checkpoint, and you respawn with the amount of ammo you had when you died. This means you can potentially restart an entire level or boss fight ''with no ammunition''.

** The game doesn't actually pause when you enter a menu, even in single-player mode. In a game like ''VideoGame/DarkSouls'' it's more tolerable due to plenty of opportunities to go AFK with relative safety, and the ability to suspend your game any time, but in a fast-paced game like ''Youngblood'' with plenty of RespawningEnemies and that only saves at checkpoints it's less forgivable.

Misuse. It's supposed to be Broken Base for sequels, not "people hate this sequel"

* ContestedSequel: Like ''Videogame/ShadowWarrior2'', the RPGElements and the loot mechanics became a point of contention for some fans who felt that they were all introduced in an unsubtle attempt to ram "[[BribingYourWayToVictory Pay to Win]]" elements into the game. The co-op element also got an especially cold reception from fans of the series, who broadly disliked the introduction of multiplayer elements into what had, up to this point, been a singleplayer-centric, narrative-driven series.

** ''The New Colossus'' ends with B.J. and his allies essentially kicking off the Second American Revolution to liberate America from Nazi occupation. However, ''Youngblood'' [[TimeSkip skips to 20 years in future]] where the Second American Revolution [[OffscreenMomentOfAwesome has already succeeded]]. As a result, players never get to see or experience the ''actual'' Revolution to expel the Nazis from America.

Authors Saving Throw is now Trivia AND needs confirmation from the creators

** The game does a lot to address the criticisms that were leveled at ''The New Colossus'' and how it changed the gameplay formula for the worse compared to ''The New Order''. The difficulty has been rebalanced so enemies aren't melting you in seconds before you even know where you're being shot from (though the RPG mechanics can re-create this issue depending on your progression), and the game has a much larger emphasis on gameplay rather than a ''VideoGame/MetalGearSolid''-like infatuation with interrupting gameplay with lengthy cutscenes every ten minutes or so. The game also has quite a few boss fights after the previous game's use of MooksButNoBosses.
** A number of basic single player features were added in through patches to address major criticisms people had, such as the A.I. partner making stealth impossible (she now has a cloaking device and won't attack unless enemies are already alerted), the inability to pause the game at all (the game can now be paused in single player when accessing menus), respawning at a checkpoint not restoring your spent ammo (you now receive a base amount of ammo at respawn), enemies and bosses being too bullet-spongy (enemy durability was globally adjusted), etc.

* ContestedSequel: Like ''Videogame/ShadowWarrior2'', the RPGElements and the loot mechanics became point of contention for the fans who felt that they were all introduced in an unsubtle attempt to ram "[[BribingYourWayToVictory Pay to Win]]" elements into the game. * RonTheDeathEater: Curiously, the twins themselves seem to have this reputation among some detractors, mainly due to how during their first kill they burst out laughing, even though it's pretty obvious they are doing it as a stress response due to, you know, [[TheseHandsHaveKilled killing someone for the first time]], as well as likely due to relief they ''themselves'' weren't killed (as it was their first fight and they didn't know how tough he was.)
