** Some of the monsters' {{Victory Pose}}s are pretty hilarious like Robo-47 doing the ''Robot'' dance or Kineticlops playing with his eye ball.

The only "source" for this is the WMG page, which was written by the same troper who added this example. A case of Circular Reasoning if I ever saw one.

* {{Fanon}}: Since Ultra V is the only monster whose first costume doesn't make an appearance in story mode, fans have speculated that he is the "canon" main character in story mode.

** Agamo's origin story has some dark humor. After being accidentally awakened by a shaman, Agamo walks away, stepping the poor human in the process.

*** The game's early development period even had a map more closely resembling New York City. It featured destructible famous landmarks, including the twin towers of the World Trade Center.

* HarsherInHindsight: The ability to summon a giant Tsunami in Tsunopolis (heavily based on Tokyo, Japan) seems a bit less fun after the tsunami that hit Japan in 2011.
** The depiction of crumbling buildings in this game turned out to be one for Sony, as while the game was almost complete in 2001, the 9/11 attacks made them worried such imagery would be TooSoon, so it's release was delayed until early 2003.

The Game is 20 years old, and the Primos controversy over the main setting being named Terramoto Heights (translating to Earthquake heights) made me think that the similarly named Tsunopolis would also come under fire. Not just due to the 2011 Tsunami, as Japan as has a long history of Tsunamis.

* ValuesDissonance: Naming the NoCommunitiesWereHarmed version of Tokyo "Tsunopolis" would most likely face backlash today.

* FridgeBrilliance:
** In the Adventure mode, why did Mecha-Congar confronted solely the Player monster rather than prioritizing both them and Preytor? Because the military programmed him to do so as they already saw the Player monster as the greater threat after they destroyed both their robots, Robo-47 and Goliath Prime.
** The reason Cerebulon did not do anything when the monsters fight in Tsunopolis is because he is waiting for them to tire themselves out and step in to collect who is left. It's also funny that whenever a monster throws something at his saucer, Cerebulon gets pissed and sends a tidal wave as payback.
** While nuclear power mutating Vegon seems like a common staple in kaiju movies but it's not actually the nuclear power that created them, it's the alien fuel that did it because Kineticlops had been using the nuclear planet. So when Atomic Island exploded, Kineticlops created Vegon as his revenge against the Player monster.
