** Averted in theatrical version where [[spoiler: Kaja's death]] comes after [[spoiler: Kaja]] shows (non-verbally but still clearly) that [[spoiler: she ]] doesn't want to live anymore, two bullets are used instead of one, [[spoiler: Kaja's death]] takes longer, with the camera fixated on [[spoiler: her ]] the whole time, and the aftermath really feels like a small epilogue rather than an independent plot.

* SpecialEffectFailure: [[spoiler: Kaja's death. Unlike all other victims, we don't see any injuries on her body. Her behavior prior to dropping dead also doesn't correspond well to a wound. It looks like she simply died from fear.]]
** Averted in the theatrical version where [[spoiler: Kaja's death is portrayed very realistically.]]

* TrueArtIsAngsty: A few times, the film overplays the bleakness of the situation: there are, until the end, no rescue operation (there were in reality, though many of the teens didn't know right away) swimming away to mainland is presented as near impossible (in reality, while one person drowned and some were shot, over hundred safely did this), and the protagonist is [[FailureHero not allowed even a single "victory"]].
