** The Dwarf Thunderbarge at the time of it's introduction to the game quickly became the most absurdly broken Unit in it. With the firepower of several units of artillery and infinite ammo it can solo entire fullstacks on it's own. Especially races with much or any ranged troops can basically find themselves unable to hurt it at all, as it's speed boosters allow it to outrun any other flying unit for a minimal loss of hitpoints (while there are some faster aerial units that should theoretically be able to destroy it, the Thunderbarge has enough mass and speed to not be stopped by them, which mean the attack animations can't connect with the thunderbarge, thus it takes no damage). Despite being dependent on a fragile gas balloon to stay airborn the Thunderbarge has more HP than several of the biggest monsters in the game. The only way to fight it is basically to kit your entire army specifically to do so, but A: Several Races flat out can't do that (see above) and B: doing so costs far more money than the Thunderbarge does (which has a pretty low price for the most OP unit currently in game). All this made even worse with the fact that unlike other extreme endgame units, such as the Dread Saurian, there is no mechanic in game to limit or cap the number of Thunderbarges Dwarfs can field in a single army or in total, allowing both players and AI to doomstack with them. And that's not even getting into all of the upgrades that Malakai Makaisson can give it, such as healing in the offchance that something manages to actually hurt it enough! All of this is one of the main reasons why it is almost always banned during tournament games.
