* CommonKnowledge: ''The Wisdom of the Gnomes'' is NOT a sequel to this series, it only happens in the same universe. Especially in Finland, due title being same in both, this caused confusion.

* NightmareFuel:
** "Friends In Trouble" and "Young Dr. Gnome" -- as Disney has [[WesternAnimation/{{Bambi}} proven]], [[TheFaceless faceless]], heartless hunters are ''very'' frightening.
** In the original Spanish version of "Kangaroo Adventure", Prince Rex actually had a [[{{Squick}} living larva]] [[NauseaFuel inside of his liver]] that was preventing him from growing.
** How dangerous pesticide is and it does cause harm to humans as well in long run.

* TearJerker:
** "The mountains of beyond"; [[http://youtu.be/6BNFNeGxsvg David and Lisa's death scene]], as well as the fact that unlike David, Lisa is very clearly not ready, outright suggesting at one point that she and David follow the example of that gnome couple in the Baltics who lived to be 550 and try for longer. David shoots down the idea and she acquiesces, never trying again.
** David and Lisa saying ''Sliztweitz'' one last time to the audience, as spirits, Swift didn't imagine them...
** A meta kind; in the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9pOQn3YOHhg original Spanish]] version when David and Lisa die, the background music that plays is a slow piano version of ''Soy un gnomo'' that eventually fades away. It is like the theme ''died with them'' as well.
** The episode "Little Houses for Little People" has a scene where David treats a doe whose leg was broken; she broke it when she fell on sharp rock and a shard of it embedded inside the wound. The poor doe cries in agony and David also has a pained expression when he removes the shard.
** In the episode "Young Dr. Gnome" hunter shoots a tiny fawn, who is later found by David and Swift in a very bad shape. It's mother is clearly distressed of the situation and she even tears up when David says he has to operate.
** "Friends In Trouble" has countless birds are held in cages in the bird shop and all of them have been captured from the wild. One parrot even cries for help when David shows up.
