* EpilepticTrees: At the end of "Homer The Heretic", God implies that Homer will die in six months time, and decides to tell him the meaning of life. In this episode (which aired around six months after "Homer The Heretic"), Homer falls into a coma. Because of this, a number of fans believed that Homer didn't wake up from that coma, and the rest of the series is Homer's dying dream.

* FirstInstallmentWins: Even for a ClipShow that was quasi-mandatory, it's still a highly-regarded episode and the most liked of all of the show's clip shows. This may be because not only was it a nice mix of funny and heartwarming moments, but [[Recap/TheSimpsonsS6E3AnotherSimpsonsClipShow the following clip show]] was a near-plotless BottleEpisode with very little jokes and a ton of RecycledAnimation and "All Singing, All Dancing" and "Gump Roast" aired during the show's infamous slide into SeasonalRot. It helps that this one has a fair amount of new material, an actual plot and Bart's [[SodaCanShakeUp beer can prank]] is listed among the funniest moments of the show.

Removing natter, particularly the repeated mentions of "The 138th Episode Spectacular" and subsequent contradictions where this episode is compared to that one, then saying that said episode was a retrospective and not a true Clip Show.
