Also keep in mind that the match was set up through Cena being overwhelmed by Awesome Truth and asking Rock for help, only for the next few weeks on Raw to see Cena overcoming them '''by himself''', killing off all sense of unpredictability this match could have beforehand.

* [[HolyShitQuotient HSQ]]: During one match with Kofi Kingston, Miz gets hit with a [[FinishingMove Trouble In Paradise]]. This wouldn't be noteworthy if it didn't make an incredibly loud '''THWACK'''. This sound effect wasn't just for show. This causes his head to snap back and it outright [=KO'd=] poor Miz for a while and caused him to bleed a little. You could say it gave him quite the bit of [[{{Pun}} Trouble in Paradise]].

* BreakupBreakout:
** After Miz and Morrison broke up, Miz surprised everyone by being more successful, winning the WWE Championship, and still being part of a major storyline after losing it. While Morrison didn't fade into obscurity but WWE was clearly much more reluctant to give him a main event push.
** To be fair to both of them, Morrison (as of 2012 not with the WWE any more) [[RealLifeWritesThePlot tended to get into more backstage politicking than he really should have]] (such as giving a WWE Legend the cold shoulder at the behest of his girlfriend) whereas Miz takes the John Cena route and tries not to cause unnecessary troubles. Thus it should come as less of a surprise that WWE was/is willing to push Miz more.
** But then WWE did drop Miz back to the midcard and Morrison slowly started to become a bigger outside of WWE than he had been in, most notably earning a triple crown in Wrestling/{{AAA}}, so this ended up only applying to their WWE careers, not their careers in general.
** On the other hand, Miz is back to doing main events at Raw and Pay-Per-Views. He has also made the Intercontinental Championship relevant once more instead of an [[BadLuckCharm albatross]] on people's necks just as he promised. So maybe in the end, neither Morrison nor Miz ended up as the Jannetty.

His character work leapt forward, fully playing into the narcissistic Hollywood gimmick, backed up by a partner whom he actually respects and even loves, making them the perfect detestable heels.

* RootingForTheEmpire: In contrast to his mild reception on the Main Event of Wrestlemania 27 that was ultimately [[OvershadowedByAwesome hijacked]] by The Rock, the Miz got some Daniel Bryan levels of pop from the Wrestlemania 33 audience who, as usual, wanted him (or anyone really) to win against Big Match John (especially when Mizanin started doing those Bryan [[SignatureMove shoot kicks]]).

** His in-ring work also improved considerably, reaching the point where he shared a Fatal-Four-Way against [[Wrestling/KevinSteen Kevin Owens]], Wrestling/SamiZayn and [[Wrestling/AntonioCesaro Cesaro]] and didn't look out of place at all. Culminating in a fantastic, fiery promo in August 2016 that basically dared all the haters to continue hating him for doing something he loved the way he did. At the moment, there's no stopping the Miz.

* InternetBackdraft:
** Miz winning the WWE Championship. Either the moment that [[StarMakingRole cemented The Miz as a serious performer]] or a complete and utter travesty.
** Also, Miz being 'passed down' the [[Wrestling/RicFlair Figure Four Leglock]]... went over with mass derision. And to exacerbate the situation, rumor on the dirtsheets had it that Miz got the finisher and rub from Naitch that were supposed to go to ''Wrestling/DolphZiggler'', who at the time was ''the'' EnsembleDarkhorse on the WWE roster.

* MetaGuy: From bringing in members of the Spirit Squad during a feud with Wrestling/DolphZiggler, to calling Wrestling/SethRoolins "Tyler Black", Miz has a habit of LeaningOnTheFourthWall.

* CriticalResearchFailure: He deserves to be drop kicked by time traveling Jumping Bomb Angels for stating the women of the 1980s did nothing interesting on the WWE Network documentary about the Wrestling/MondayNightWars.
