* HilariousInHindsight: It's funny that Ishinomori's and Himekawa's ''Link to the Past'' both depict Link's Dark World persona as a wolf, considering what happens in ''[[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaTwilightPrincess Twilight Princess]]''.
** In addition, the Master Sword in Himekawa's version is an EmpathicWeapon who at one point commands Link to raise it skyward. [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaSkywardSword Maybe Fi decided to wake up from her eternal sleep...]]
** Mishouzaki's manga makes Zelda into a BadassAdorable {{Tomboy}} who disguises herself in a masculine manner at one point, and ends up getting kidnapped by Ganon. This sounds a lot like Princess Zelda in ''[[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaOcarinaOfTime Ocarina of Time]]''. Additionally, Zelda and Link are half-siblings; it's a popular [[PopCultureUrbanLegends myth]] that Zelda and Link, specifically both the Hero of Time and the [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaALinkToThePast SNES Link]], are siblings.
** All three of Shigoto's manga have Link with inaccurate hair colors. First he's a redhead, then a blond, and next he has pink hair; [[YouDontLookLikeYou these are all the same Link by the way]]. Link was made into a blond for ''[[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaALinkToThePast A Link to the Past]]'' and has been so since, and the in-game sprites show Link with pink hair due to graphical troubles.
** In Ishinomori's version, when Link receives miracle wings to fly over the desert, an old man says that the wings once belong to a powerful bird that was able to carry knights to battle. [[VideoGame/TheLegendofZeldaSkywardSword Indeed, the knights did ride on giant birds in Skyward Sword.]] [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaBreathOfTheWild Link also obtains a glider in Breath of the Wild.]]
** In Ishinomori's version Link gets a fairy companion and a Zora mask, although it's just a disguise.
** In Cagiva's version, Link and Zelda meet in her bedchamber while he is trying to rescue her from Agahnim. Come the [[ContentLeak July 2020 Gigaleak]], one of the files found in the source for ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaALinkToThePast'' shows that one of the rooms in Hyrule Castle was planned to be Zelda's bedchamber.

* CompleteMonster: [[Characters/TheLegendOfZeldaGanonGanondorf Ganon]] was once the fearsome bandit lord [[AdaptationalVillainy Ganondorf]], who betrayed and slaughtered his followers and allies to claim the Tri-Force for himself. Though sealed away, Ganon contacts and corrupts the scholar [[DecompositeCharacter Agahnim]] into becoming his servant, sowing chaos through Hyrule to pave the way for Ganon to subsume it into his Dark World of pain. When Agahnim accomplishes his goal, Ganon repays him by [[YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness murdering him]] and mocking that he never planned to share his power as promised.

* EnsembleDarkhorse: Ghanti the Thief is popular for her interesting backstory, her BettyAndVeronica-esque ShipTease with Link, and her energetic, optimistic and mischievous personality. A lot of her fans have hoped for her to become a canon character, and she would later get a ShoutOut through a Thief Girl very similar to her having a role in ''[[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaALinkBetweenWorlds A Link Between Worlds]]''.
