* GeniusBonus: The character Omar Khayyam is based on a HistoricalDomainCharacter, a Persian poet (and philosopher, mathematician, and astrologer) whose work is known in the west thanks to Edward Fitzgerald's rather free Victorian translation, the ''Rubáiyát''. That in itself might be no more than a ParentalBonus, even though Omar is in the middle of composing that work when first encountered, but it's also worth noting that (a) Omar is clearly quite tipsy when first encountered, and the ''Rubáiyát'' is noted for its favorable references to wine, and (b) he promptly tries to sell Abu Ali a tent, and as "Khayyam" means "tent-maker" in Arabic, it's widely assumed that the historical Omar's family were in that line of work.
