* TookTheBadFilmSeriously: Dodgy accent aside, Creator/MarkAddy gives it his all in mimicking Fred's mannerisms to a T. In the DVD Commentary, Addy claims he not only extensively researched footage from the show, but also Fred's inspiration Creator/JackieGleason.[[note]]Which clearly paid off since Addy would later be cast as Gleason in a CBS biopic though he had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts, leading him to be replaced with Creator/BradGarrett[/note]].

* {{Sequelitis}}: The first film was divisive but did well enough with the public and it's fans because at the least it was pretty close to the cartoon and had a likeable enough cast to make it work. The prequel however fell into it as many weren't interested in a prequel story, the plot had the opposite problem of the first with most for being too kiddie and adding the Great Gazoo (whom is a bit of a [[TheScrappy Scrappy]] with Flintstone fans). Also, [[DarkhorseCasting the lead cast being made up of D-list actors]] didn't help things.

* NightmareFuel: The movie has some surprising scary moments due to their attempts to adapt the cartoonish aspects of the show via special effects to make them more realistic instead makes them look terrifying in.
** The Great Gazoo and his ilk in the movie. While their appearances are more natural in animation, their realistic green human faces stuck on CGI tiny bodies made to look like the original depiction comes across as very unnerving to look at rather than endearing.

Not helped that The Great Gazoo appears and disappears suddenly at rather than endearing.random- leading to unintentional JumpScare moments.

** As mentioned above, Fred's sudden WingDingEyes bulging out and taking on the traits of a slot machine. What works normally in traditional animation suddenly takes on an unnerving aspect.

Uncanny Valley is IUEO now and the subjective version has been split; cleaning up misuse and ZCE in the process

* UncannyValley: Creator/AlanCumming's portrayal of the Great Gazoo can come off as a bit creepy and weird. Imagine a realistic human face, painted green and stuck onto a cartoonishly tiny body.
