** The Dinkleberg meme, you know, the one where Dinkleberg is blamed for everything? Well, try to watch the episode [[spoiler:where Dinkleberg pretends to actually be evil]] and try not to laugh harder.
** The plot of "Just the Two of Us" is a guy arranges it so that the girl he likes will be trapped with him in a world where they're the only two people around, only for her to eventually snap and turn on him. In 2016, someone decided to turn this 10-minute cartoon episode into [[Film/{{Passengers 2016}} a feature length film]].
** One of the timeline differences listed by Jorgen at the end of "It's a Wishful Life" was [[TakeThat the Chicago Cubs winning the World Series]], with many jokes from baseball fans invoking screenshots of this episode. Guess who won the World Series in 2016.
** The episode [[{{Recap/TheFairlyOddParentsS1E2PowerMad}} Power Mad!]] has Cosmo and Wanda act out many programs inside the TV keep Vicky distracted. One of the segments is a parody of the 50s sitcom ''Series/ILoveLucy'' called "I Love Wanda" with Cosmo saying "Wanda, you've got some splainin to do!". Just shy of two decades later, the short clip perfectly captures the essence of ''Series/WandaVision'', and is often used as the subject of memes about the latter.
** Speaking of which, the laugh track-induced sitcom idea discovered on "Timmy TV" sadly comes into fruition on ''Series/TheFairlyOddParentsFairlyOdder''.
** [[https://fairlyoddparents.fandom.com/wiki/Golden_Locks Golden Locks]] from the episode "Chindred Spirits" bears a resemblance to Wonder Woman, while her evil counterpart, [[https://fairlyoddparents.fandom.com/wiki/Hair_Razor Hair Razor]], resembles Black Canary. [[Creator/GreyDeLisle Golden Locks' and Hair Razor's voice actress]] would [[WesternAnimation/JLAAdventuresTrappedInTime later]] [[WesternAnimation/LegoDCComicsSuperheroes voice]] [[WebAnimation/DCSuperheroGirls Wonder]] [[WesternAnimation/DCSuperheroGirls Woman]] herself, as well as [[WesternAnimation/BatmanTheBraveAndTheBold Black]] [[WesternAnimation/DCShowcaseGreenArrow Canary]].
** In a Season 5 episode "Future Lost" Timmy finds a children's sci-fi book of his dad's and points out how the world doesn't yet have stuff the story thought it would by the 21st century, like rockets to a moon colony, picture phones (in which they show two people communicating via video screen), and robots that do chores (such as mowing the lawn, taking out trash and vaccumming floor), leading Timmy to wish for that type of future. Within roughly a decade after the episode originally aired (2005), society would have smartphones allowing video calls, automated household machines for doing certain chores such as robot vaccuums, and while the moon hasn't become a livable environment yet, there have been plans and tests runs of, respectively, colonizing the moon and spaceships for sending private citizens up into space.
** The episode "Something's Fishy" had a plot point about Wet Willie, the show's parody of ComicBook/{{Aquaman}}, getting his own movie and said movie being completely horrible. At the time this was just another example of enforcing [[MemeticLoser the popular idea among non-fans that Aquaman is an uncool superhero]], but around 13 years after this episode aired, Aquaman actually did [[Film/Aquaman2018 get his own movie]] and it proved to be [[AndYouThoughtItWouldFail more commercially successful than the general public anticipated]].

** Timmy in the later seasons, he's a lazy, selfish jerk but considering how badly he was treated by his own friends and parents, it's hard not to see why he acts like that.

* BaseBreakingCharacter: New additions and most [[{{Flanderization}} flanderized]] characters tend to be this:
** Poof. He is either an adorable and perfect addition, or a [[TheLoad useless]] SatelliteCharacter that doesn't add anything to the cast.
** Foop, Poof's Evil counterpart, is either a funny character in the vein of [[WesternAnimation/FamilyGuy Stewie Griffin]] or an annoying one-note ReplacementScrappy to his father Anti-Cosmo (and the Anti-Fairy race as a whole). His VillainDecay in the later episodes doesn't help. There are also those in the middle, who like him but find him overused at the expense of the other Anti-Fairies.
** [[AlphaBitch Trixie Tang]], especially her Post-Flanderization self. There are fans who still like her for her tomboyish and nice side and for reasons related to {{Shipping}}, and liked her role in "Wishology", but other fans hate her for her {{Jerkass}} and snobby behavior and for her many KickTheDog moments toward Timmy. She is also hated by Timmy/Tootie Shippers. However, both sides agree that Trixie, like many other characters, was [[TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter wasted]].
** Timmy's Dad, depending on who you ask. He's either [[FountainOfMemes memetically hilarious]] and got better because [[TookALevelinKindness his relationship with his son]] got better in later seasons, or an obnoxious ManChild who is seen as neglectful and mean spirited toward his son.
** Denzel Crocker, There are fans who hate how loud and annoying he is because of the {{Flanderization}} and overexposure he went through in the last two seasons. However, there are other fans who still love him for being a JerkassWoobie, and a [[LargeHam hamtastic]] villain.
** Some people found Cosmo's ditzy personality funny and endearing, while others found him obnoxious and intolerable for it, and being the cause of many problems (notably in "The Secret Origin of Denzel Crocker!" where he causes Crocker to lose his fairy godparents.)
** Wanda. Some like her for being the [[OnlySaneMan only sane character]], others hate her for being a constant nag that gets on Timmy and Cosmo's case over the slightest mistake. Doesn't help that she became dumber and less useful in Season 10.
** Chloe Carmichael. A large portion of the fandom find her as a Little Miss Perfect who makes Timmy look like even more of a loser by comparison, and who Timmy has to share his fairies with due to a "fairy shortage" despite her not meeting the requirement of being miserable (''especially'' when compared to Chester[[note]]Lives in poverty in a trailer with his dad, who has to wear a bag on his head because he's a disgraced and notoriously awful former baseball player[[/note]] or Tootie[[note]]''Lives under the same roof as Vicky'', no further explanation needed other than to say that "Birthday Wish" confirms that she's at least ''twice'' as miserable as Timmy is[[/note]]). She is also hated for her [[NoIndoorVoice loudness]] and [[SpotlightStealingSquad her role in every episode she appeared]]. On the other hand, there are also fans who like that Chloe is a positive female character, since most of the other female characters are either {{Alpha Bitch}}es (Trixie), [[MoralEventHorizon irredeemable]] {{Jerkass}}es (Miss Doombringer and Vicky), borderline-criminal stalkers (Tootie), [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking or one-off characters]] (Molly and Missy), and that she's much less of a Sue after her debut episode. There were even few fans hoping Chloe would become Timmy's new love interest and [[FanPreferredCouple shipped her with him]], though this is subject to whether or not the live-action films are canon.
** While Tootie has many sympathetic qualities such as having ''[[BabysitterFromHell Vicky]]'' for a [[BigBrotherBully big sister]], truly loves Timmy for who he is, and sharing the [[ASharedSuffering same level]] of [[ButtMonkey humilation as Timmy]], she still has her fair share of detractors (usually from Timmy/Trixie shippers) for her StalkerWithACrush tendencies, her [[GenkiGirl hyperactivity]] thanks to {{Flanderization}}, and her obnoxiously squeaky voice. While [[StalkingIsFunnyIfItIsFemaleAfterMale her obsession with Timmy]] is meant to be PlayedForLaughs, her actions in the later episodes became more creepy than cute. For example, in the episode, "He Poofs, He Scores", one of Tootie's cheers mentions how she "stalks Timmy every night".

* AlternativeCharacterInterpretation:
** Vicky: A complete psychopath who tortures kids ForTheEvulz, or is it possible that she has a FreudianExcuse for her actions and had a DarkAndTroubledPast which made her the way she is now? The episode "Snow Bound" suggests that she had a rough childhood [[note]]Possibly retconned as of Channel Chasers, where, judging by her baby pictures, she's always been evil, and, starting with that movie, she's consistently portrayed as wanting to take over the world[[/note]]. Complicated by the fact that she has also been portrayed as [[SealedInsideAPersonShapedCan a nice girl sealing in an evil bug from getting into a position where it can do too much damage]].
** Trixie Tang: In her debut "A Wish Too Far", Trixie runs back to Timmy after everyone else walks offscreen. She tells him that she think it's cool that he stood up for his friends and gives him a kiss on the cheek, before leaving him to go to a party. A few episodes later in "The Boy Who Would Be Queen", we find out that Trixie [[GirlyGirlWithATomboyStreak secretly loves boy-oriented things]] and her AlphaBitch behavior is an attempt to hide this. Does she have genuine feelings for Timmy but acts like a jerk and represses her love for him because she wants to remain popular? Also, is it possible that she's actually a LonelyRichKid and a StepfordSmiler? Granted, all of this was before she was firmly flanderized into a full-time AlphaBitch.
** Why is Veronica so obsessed with [[IJustWantToBeYou wanting to be Trixie]]? Is it envy? Or some warped and twisted manifestation of an attraction to her?
** Timmy's {{Jerkass}} behavior from Season 5 onward may have stemmed from the episode "It's a Wishful Life", where he finds out that the world would be better without him. He must have felt hurt and humiliated, so he became more cynical and jerkish towards his godparents and friends because he stopped caring about the consequences of his actions. After all, it's not like the world treated him very nicely.
** [[http://i1.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/original/000/679/806/a3c.png This image]] provides a very worrying interpretation of Timmy, that he essentially ran away from his original life and family to start a second one with his Fairy Godparents and that he risks becoming more and more detached and antisocial. Notably, the live action movies and "Timmy's Secret Wish" support this, during which Timmy either refuses to grow up or [[spoiler:wishes that everyone would stop aging]] all to avoid losing Cosmo and Wanda. [[https://i.imgur.com/9W3Y8lD.png Another image]] using ContinuityPorn and FridgeHorror outright suggests that Timmy is a diabolical mastermind with a god complex [[MagnificentBastard who is very, very good at what he does]].
*** Slightly lessened with the introduction of Chloe Carmichael, meaning Timmy has one good friend to fall back on after he loses his fairies.
** Cosmo: Read the FridgeHorror entry about the possibility that he is maybe [[ObfuscatingStupidity pretending to be stupid]] and that all the disasters he made were not an accident.
** Wanda: A DeadpanSnarker who is the [[OnlySaneMan only sane fairy]], or a [[ComedicSociopathy psychopath]] who punishes Cosmo and Timmy [[DisproportionateRetribution for making one slight mistake]]? "Bad Heir Day" gives an example for the latter.
*** There’s also an even worse possibility: That both interpretations are correct. First, Wanda started out as a reasonable DeadpanSnarker and OnlySaneMan, but as the series went on and on (over the course of [[spoiler: over fifty years]], which is something even she didn’t know at the time), the weird and horrible crap that she, Cosmo and Timmy went through over the years started to [[SanitySlippage slowly drive her insane]]. It would certainly explain her increasingly bonkers characterization over the years. It would also make her story somewhat tragic, because it would make the entire show a story about a perfectly sane (if somewhat strict) pink-haired woman and her loony green-haired husband who slowly starts to lose her sanity as all the strange adventures and horrible things she had to see during her tenure as Timmy’s fairy godparent starts to [[SanitySlippage take a toll on her mind.]]
** Some fanfics give us the idea that Anti-Cosmo wanted Timmy as his anti-godchild because he actually cared about him and thought that Cosmo and Wanda weren't doing a well enough job caring for him. [[VillainHasAPoint He's kind of right.]]

* EnsembleDarkhorse:
** Chip Skylark has only had a handful of major appearances. However, him being voiced by Chris Kirkpatrick, along with being one of the few genuinely nice characters in the show has greatly endeared him to fans.
** Norm the Genie, was a three-appearance villain that became a DracoInLeatherPants among the fandom.
** Ms. Doombringer, a highly competent fairy hunter that appeared in just one episode but has people asking for more.
** Molly, a girl that showed up for one episode but already has shippers pairing her and Timmy together.
** Remy Buxaplenty to some degree - he appeared in one episode to challenge and lose to Timmy in a duel, and disappeared after that. All the same he had a fairly significant following and a tendency to be shipped with Trixie Tang - who didn't even interact with him in "Remy Rides Again" when they appeared in the same episode - and years later was brought back for a small handful of new episodes.
** The Gilded Arches because even though he first appeared in the webtoons, he became popular enough to appear in "Breaking Da Rules".
** Nega-Timmy.
** Dark Laser. Initially, he was a one-off villain. Then he made an appearance in the fifth season as a continuity nod, but by the sixth season, he'd become a semi-regular, even having a major part in the season finale.
** Anti-Cosmo is quite popular among the fandom, especially the idea of Timmy being his godchild. No wonder why Foop is seen as a ReplacementScrappy for many fans.
** Maryann, despite being a one shot character, is one of the show's most memorable villains due to causing World War 1 and, indirectly, every war after that.
** Timmy's GenderBender alter-ego, Timantha. Despite only appearing in "The Boy Who Would Be Queen", she eventually became popular enough to appear in Breaking Da Rules as one of Timmy's alternate forms.
** Gary, Timmy's imaginary friend, who only ever appeared in two episodes (one of which was just a continuity nod) but is also very popular with the fandom.
** Princess Mandie, who's one of the few competent villains in the series and looks like she came out of ''Danny Phantom'' instead. She only appeared in three episodes (plus a cameo in a fourth).
** Principal Waxelplax, for being a BigBeautifulWoman, her relationship with Crocker, and being one of the nicer characters on the show.

** The switch from hand drawn animation to flash animation in mid-Season 10, which many believe to be yet another sign that the show has run its course. Not helped by the fact that unlike other shows that switched from hand-drawn to flash, the switch was done in the middle of a season that consisted of hand drawn episodes. Sure enough, when Butch announced he was leaving Nickelodeon, it was revealed the show was over and done with (for real this time, he produces the show).
* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot:
** "The Boy Who Would Be Queen" revealed that Trixie [[HiddenDepths has a tomboy side]], and hides it because she's afraid of what others would think of her if anyone found out. What could've been an interesting StoryArc about Trixie coming to terms with herself was abandoned in favor of her [[StatusQuoIsGod retaining]] her AlphaBitch status. It was never mentioned again after that episode, and, thanks to Trixie pretty much disappearing from the show after her VA left the series, probably never will.
** Some felt "The Big Superhero Wish" and "Wishology" should have had more action sequences, and that Tootie should have been involved in the latter.
** A lot of fans cried foul after viewing "Escape From [=UnWish=] Island", feeling it was horrible use of a potential villain (in this case, Gary, Timmy's former imaginary friend) who wasn't even wished away in the first place, and especially the AssPull ending the writers came up with.
** [[CrossOver Jimmy/Timmy Power Hour 3]], which was originally was supposed to be a GrandFinale for [[WesternAnimation/TheAdventuresOfJimmyNeutronBoyGenius both]] [[WesternAnimation/TheFairlyOddParents shows.]]. Who didn't want to see a 3D Dimmsdale, Crocker spazzing out in 3D, or the alien Mark Chang in 3D? There was a brief glimpse of a 2D Retroville, but not enough to see what the rest of characters from [[WesternAnimation/TheAdventuresOfJimmyNeutronBoyGenius Jimmy Neutron]] look like in 2D.
** Some fans felt disappointed that Veronica's secret crush on Timmy was not developed further beyond of "Information Stupor Highway" (and briefly in "Mind Over Magic") and this sub-plot wasn't referenced or supported since Season 4.
** It was implied that Vicky had some kind of a FreudianExcuse in "Snow Bound" on why she acts the way she does. Unfortunately, it never explored beyond that.
** Lots of fans felt disappointed that Trixie and Tootie never got to interact with each other when they appeared in the same episode.
** The episode "Fairy Idol" shows Norm becoming a Fairy Godparent and being assigned to Chester. Chester learning about Fairy Godparents could be interesting CharacterDevelopment for him, with him potentially becoming an AscendedExtra. Instead, Chester wishes to have never met Norm after [[UnwittingPawn feeling used]] and wipes everyone's memories, including his own. Him wishing for Cosmo and Wanda to become Timmy's godparents again would've fixed the conflict of the episode while ignoring StatusQuoIsGod. Not to mention that Chester could keep Norm as his slave, [[FateWorseThanDeath which is probably a more fitting punishment for his actions]].
** Throughout the show, there was a RunningGag of Timmy's dad hatred of the Dinklebergs, sometimes for the pettiest reasons, which apparently lasted since his childhood. Sadly, it was never explored beyond that. Who didn't want to see an episode that explained how Mr. Turner's feud with the Dinklebergs started?
** This was also a common complaint leveled against Season 10. The premise of Timmy sharing his Fairies with another character would be far more interesting if he was sharing them with an established character such as AJ, Chester, or Sanjay rather than with another new character.
*** Another aspect some fans expressed is that since this apparently carried on after Poof went on to do his own thing, this could've been a good chance to age up Timmy a bit to at least a pre-teen (12) and make him a mentor to Chloe. He would've been slightly older, wiser and had much more experience, as well as being a good transition into finally letting go of his fairies when the time to do so came.
** The idea of Timmy getting a cool magical pet could've been interesting: the pet could've been something unconventional, like a dragon or an emu, it could've been a competent and protective guardian, and there could've been stories about Timmy learning responsibility in caring for another creature. Instead, Timmy gets an uncreative animal, a dog, that does nothing but act like a fool and teaches no real morals.

** [[LonelyRichKid Remy Buxaplenty]] is an example of a character saved from the waste heap. Remy (and his Fairy Godparent Juandissimo) made such an impression on the fans in one appearance that they clamored for more, and they eventually got three more appearances for him in close succession. However, Remy then stopped appearing while [[MyMasterRightOrWrong his Godparent]] still got to make more appearances without him. To date, he has only made ''one'' more appearance, late in Season 9.
** Ms. Sunshine, AKA Ms. Doombringer. A much more competent fairy hunter, cool design and voice, not too serious and could've been expanded on afterward, maybe even causing Crocker to actually start upping his game to keep his turf. But sadly, the writers who wrote the episode just up and forgot her and she was never seen again. Ironic, since the end of her only appearance has her vowing to someday return. Crocker's line after she says this kinda sums it up:
---> '''Crocker:''' But not someday soon.
** Missy; she became Timmy's friend at the end of "Finding Emo", and never appeared again. Some fans think the writers should have used her as the co-star of season 10 instead of Chloe, since they already had some established chemistry.
** Francis is the only main antagonist who never got an episode revolving around him to explain his bullying, and the fact that he appeared less in the later seasons definitely doesn't help this case.
** Some see Gary, Timmy's imaginary friend, as utterly wasted potential for a villain. This is a guy who came from Timmy's psyche and likewise knew how he would think which could've provided some challenge for him. Heck "Escape From Unwish Island" was a good example of this, but said episode likewise just gave him an uninteresting send-off where he pretty much gets what he wants.
** The two other godkids that Timmy went to reform school with, [[ActionGirl Molly]] and [[NervousWreck Dwight]], have interesting personalities that bounce of each other and of Timmy pretty well. With them potentially becoming a PowerTrio, they could learn from each other to become more and more independent. The fact that their fairies are also shown to have dynamics unique from Timmy's dynamic with Cosmo & Wanda could also be used as material for new episodes. Instead, they disappear from the show, never to be heard from again.
** Trixie Tang's closet tomboy side would've been a lot more interesting to explore then the usual plot of Timmy bending over backwards to impress her.
** Many characters who were prominent in the first five or six seasons serve as examples of this, with several of these characters (Chester, A. J., Tootie, Trixie, Veronica, Francis, the Cool Kids, Dr. Bender, etc.) being phased out and making no major appearances for several seasons afterwards. To make things more puzzling, Butch Hartman indicated in videos produced after the series ended that the writers hadn't forgotten about any of them, just no longer found them as entertaining as Mr. Crocker or Mr. Turner.

!!General examples:

* HoYay: [[HoYay/TheFairlyOddParents Has its own page]].
* IdiotPlot:
** The Idiot Plots don't detract from the show since they're a large part of what drives it along, but they're there nonetheless (and, as stated, are a HUGE part of what drives it along). The only reason nobody discovers Timmy Turner's fairies is because of the stupidity of everyone else. Even when they're disguised as ordinary objects, ''with obvious faces'', and '''they speak while in this state, in front of large crowds.''' Timmy's parents (and even random people on the street at times) will, instead of questioning Timmy's various talking possessions, simply remark that "That [object that clearly should not be speaking but did] is right!"
--->'''Timmy's Dad:''' Those gleeful goldfish are right to cheer!
** A surprisingly good use of this trope is the first episode featuring Norm the Genie. Timmy is explicitly warned by Wanda that the genies are notorious tricksters and that their wishes always bite the users in the butt. The audience knows full well that it won't end well, but how does Timmy rationalize using Norm anyway?
--->'''Timmy:''' [[DumbassHasAPoint Well, ''your'' wishes always tend to bite me in the butt. And his are rule-free!]]
** Even before the obligatory ResetButton at the end of each episode, people rarely notice or care about the huge, unexplained changes in Timmy's behavior/appearance/life or the city of Dimmsdale as a whole, even if they're personally affected.
** Even more obvious is how most of Timmy's bad wishes that fuel episode plots could be easily resolved with one counter-wish. (Usually {{hand wave}}d with "Magic can't affect [antagonist]!" or one of Da Rules blocking the counter-wish.)
** Most of Timmy's wishes border on TooDumbToLive territory, but Wanda and Cosmo generally say "okay, your funeral" instead of explaining why his wish is insane; Wanda has repeatedly gone on vacations or personal business alone when she knows that leaving Timmy and Cosmo on their own can and does result in TheEndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt.
** One of the worst specific examples is "The Grass is Greener". The entire circus plot wouldn't have happened had his parents decided to phrase their opinion in literally any way that wasn't basically "Timmy is a worthless little prick who should have been a girl and then I would be much much happier... [Timmy walks out of earshot, sad, to go make preparations to run away] ...'''[[{{NOT}} is the exact opposite of how I really feel!]]'''"
** The plot of the episode "Man's Worst Friend" happens almost entirely because of Timmy not being able to tell Sparky from his anti-fairy counterpart, despite the latter being, you know, ''completely blue''.

** Tootie, because she gets an even more miserable life than Timmy (she is [[TeensAreMonsters Vicky]]'s little sister, and [[BigBrotherBully Vicky always tortures her whenever she is not babysitting]], meaning that she is twice as miserable as Timmy) and unlike Timmy she does not have her own Fairy Godparents and apparently her only consolation is her crush for him. She is also one of the few characters in the series who is always consistently nice to Timmy, even more than Cosmo and Wanda (who sometimes are mean-spirited with him for RuleOfFunny), even if she acts like a StalkerWithACrush, and this is one of the reasons why she is one of the more popular characters of the series in the fandom.

* AlternativeJokeInterpretation: The convicts crying that they want their mommies and daddies too after witnessing Timmy being let out of jail when his crying restores his godparents and returns him to being a ten-year-old kid. Is it because they genuinely miss their parents and are upset that they can't see them because of their incarceration, or are they trying to do what Timmy did in hopes that it will enable them to get out of jail?

* JerksAreWorseThanVillains: Most of the show's villains are very over-the-top in their portrayal and too hilarious to hate. Thus, the most hated characters on the show by far are Timmy's extremely negligent and borderline-abusive parents, who constantly leave him home alone with Vicky and are oblivious to her cruelty, and often give away Timmy's things and spend his college savings without his permission. Few children have to deal with murderous babysitters or delusional schoolteachers in life, but parents who abuse and neglect their children are very common.

** Trixie Tang: In her debut "A Wish Too Far", Trixie runs back to Timmy after everyone else walks offscreen. A few episodes later in "The Boy Who Would Be Queen", we find out that Trixie [[GirlyGirlWithATomboyStreak secretly loves boy-oriented things]] and her AlphaBitch behavior is an attempt to hide this. General opinion holds that Veronica's obsession with Trixie is, in turn, due to ''Timmy'' being obsessed with Trixie, at the very least an extremely unhealthy case of possessiveness if not outright jealousy. And Veronica likes Timmy with the "burning passion of a thousand suns", as it stands.
