* NightmareFuel: This movie could make melissophobes uncomfortable, especially when we see Mrs. Hargrove getting stung to death and glimpses of her corpse.

* CaptainObviousReveal: [[spoiler:Mild-mannered, tweedy, stammering Manfred]] is the killer behind it all. This really isn't that surprising, given that [[spoiler:he's the only other person on the island who keeps bees in the first place]], and every single other character aside from Hargrove that the movie has introduced -- Doris, Vicki's agent, the pub landlord, Tess the dog, Ronnie Wood -- wouldn't make sense as the mastermind, but the movie's sole attempts at covering up the twist are Hargrove as the world's smelliest RedHerring and [[spoiler:Manfred repeatedly mentioning [[SuspiciouslySpecificDetail that he's only a hobbyist, not an expert in apiology]]]], then treating the revelation that they ARE as a shock. Made even worse by the long, tedious exposition that follows, as it painstakingly lays out every single thing the audience could've already understood themselves, including the ''previous scene''.
