* FanDisservice: At one point in the game you stumble upon a real life recreation of "Venus of Urbino". [[spoiler: Calling it "real life" may be pushing it, though, since it is made using a woman's corpse - and not a very fresh one, at that. It also leads you to question, what else Doctor X may have been doing with the corpse, if it could inspire him to put it into such a sensual position]].

* FridgeBrilliance: It only makes sense that the Parasites flock around Susan: she lives in a rough part of the town, she has no friends, [[spoiler: her entire family is dead by the beginning of the game]], she is unemployed, her few neighbors would be happy to see gone, so nobody is going to miss her and look for her. She is also very weak emotionally, making it easy to win her trust. She is a perfect target for any criminal.

** The game's whole premise deals rather heavily with suicide.
** Susan, seeing [[spoiler: the old woman]] behind Mitzi, tries to warn Mitzi to leave because she thinks Mitzi will die. Mitzi responds by revealing [[spoiler: that she is already dying of cancer.]]
