* SugarWiki/AwesomeArt: Whether you like Jim Lawson's art or not, you have to admit that it's preetty awesome that what's essentially a fan comic managed to get one of the veteran TMNT artists, and the one who's arguably drawn the most Mirage TMNT comics at that... he's certainly drawn more of them than either Eastman or Laird. If you're going to have a GrandFinale to the Mirage TMNT universe, Jim Lawson is ''the'' artist to go to. Several of the other artists also deliver stellar work; A. C. Farley's back cover is absolutely gorgeous, and Sophie Campbell provides a great-looking page of the 2012 TMNT fighting Snakeweed. Art-wise, it's hard to call this comic anything but a spectacular success.

* NotHisSled: People who had read ''TMNT: Trancension'' already knew that the Shogun was an older and time-displaced Leonardo. [[spoiler: It's actually an older and time-displaced ''Michelangelo.'']]

* OneSceneWonder: The Mighty Mutanimals. They're only in three pages, but their appearance and ''total beatdown'' of Null is one of the big highlights of the comic.

* BrokenBase: [[Spoiler: Wait, ''Michelangelo'' was the bad guy all along?!]] A lot of fans found this to be too out of character and stretching the suspension of disbelief too much, others felt that it was at least given a proper explanation and he at least had his motivations clearly laid out -- it wasn't like he became a cackling supervillain.

* SoOkayItsAverage: This is one of, if not ''the'' most ambitious TMNT fan projects ever, and as a love letter to the Mirage TMNT (and to a lesser extent the Archie TMNT) it's unsurpassed... but the execution doesn't ''quite'' stick the landing. It's not hard to see how the Shogun's story arc is essentially a copy of Hal Jordan becoming Parallax, and the dialogue in the comic is often clunky and unnatural-sounding. The entire ShaggyDogStory feel to it doesn't help either... and yet, the sheer scope and incredible amount of work put in is extremely impressive and the plot twists are handled reasonably well. It's still a ''good'' comic... just not a ''great'' one.
