** “Josh killed Tera” [[labelnote:Explanation]] MMO YouTuber Josh Strife Hayes covered the game on his series “Worst MMO Ever?” and although He praised some aspects such as the combat system, the review for the most part was unfavorable to the game. Several months after the video was released, it was announced that the servers for ''TERA'' would be shutting down rendering the game unplayable. This caused many in the MMO community to jokingly say Josh and his video killed ''TERA'' due to the coincidental timing, with even Josh himself getting in on it.[[/labelnote]]

* SpiritualLicensee: This game is considered the closest thing to a ''LightNovel/SwordArtOnline'' MMORPG, or the first one when that anime was still relatively new in terms of popularity and hype in the mainstream.

* SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments: The ''Last Quest'' is this mixed with TearJerker. It basically involves The Player Character saying goodbye to many notable NPCs before they part ways to parts unknown. In turn many of them express gratitude towards The PC's efforts and achievements through the game with some even expressing sadness over seeing them leave and others wishing the Player best for their future. Considering the RealitySubtext that this quest was released during the final month of the game's lifespan, It was a pretty touching send off on the part of the developers.

* BrokenBase: Despite the extreme popularity of the Elin, the race has sparked ''a lot'' of internal conflicts within the playerbase. On one side, you have the people who absolutely detests the Elin race because they get a lot of raps than the other races (more costumes, more classes being added to said race, etc.) while the other side loves the Elin due to their cute Anime-inspired designs and caters to it's fetishes. Plus, they [[ItAmusedMe loved the idea of a little girl with a weapon 5 times her size taking down a big-ass monster]].

* PlayerPunch: During the Fate of Arun storyline, the player meets an Elin named Zolyn and a Popori named Paesyn. There is a subplot involving Paesyn wanting to be friends with Zolyn, but she keeps brushing him off because she is more interested in looking for her sister Syona who had gone missing on a previous expedition years ago. He eventually manages to get her to open up to him a little, but [[spoiler:Zolyn ends up ambushed by Dakuryon and captured by him while Paesyn and the player are forced to watch. The two have to move on and hope she's still alive somewhere, but after entering the Archdeva sanctum, the player finds Dakuryon again, who sends a corrupted Zolyn towards the two and forced into killing Paesyn by the magic warping her mind and the player has to give Zolyn a MercyKill.]]

* EnsembleDarkhorse: The Elin race as a whole. They were originally supposed to be just a filler race but according to the director, they have overshadowed the other races in terms of popularity that they became canon to the lore.
** As further proof, the Japanese localization team requested for a "Swimsuit" costume for the Elin race to the director, the director just went on to do their request without expecting anything good happening. The result? The revenue gained for the Elin swimsuit costumes alone exceeded the total number of revenue gained from the swimsuit costumes from ''all the other races combined''. This has resulted in the "Elin saved Terra" MemeticMutation and why the game became so profitable even when going Free-to-Play. With the release of the Maid costumes later on (which is one of the big hits in Japan), it only further cemented the status of the Elins as ''the'' most loved race in the entire game. No contest.
* GermansLoveDavidHasselhoff: Asian players absolutely ''loves'' the Elin especially by Anime fans since the race caters a lot to the fetishes commonly seen in the genre (specifically to people who adores [[LoliconAndShotacon loli-type female characters]]. Western players on the other hand? Well, let's just say that a lot of the playerbase there wanted the game to be nuked the moment they were introduced.
