* BrokenBase: The ''Brave Witches'' season. Some fans aren't really happy for the focus of the anime to switch away from the Strike Witches themselves, whereas others are fine to see the anime focus on the expansive universe of the series, or at least happy to see the anime series continue. While airing, the series got its fair share of praise and criticism. Fans generally like how the current MC Hikari is a [[ContrastingSequelMainCharacter Contrasting Interquel Main Character]] from the previous MC Yoshika. However, a common criticism is the very poor use of CGI and how frequently it takes you away from the experience, the other common criticism being some of the poor writing decisions [[spoiler: especially in episode 10 regarding Hikari & Takami]].
** The divide basically comes down to a preference for the darker, more serious action elements that primarily make up ''Brave Witches'' or the light-hearted slice of life antics that are prevalent in much of ''Strike Witches''. Both sides have their fans.

* FriendlyFandoms: With ''Anime/GirlsUndPanzer'' and ''Videogame/KantaiCollection'', due to all three being bishoujo-centric military works, which form a trinity of air force-infantry-navy. All three of them also have characters from (or at least themed after) several nations, making it common to make crossovers with characters from the same nationality.

* StoicWoobie: Mio. The final episodes of Seasons 1 and 2 deal with her [[spoiler: losing her magical power, and by extension, her ability to fight the Neuroi.]] Every aspect of Mio's character screams "DontYouDarePityMe", but just try to watch her break down in tears in the face of [[spoiler: losing her way of life and place in the [[TrueCompanions 501st]]]] and not feel sorry for her. [[spoiler: Fortunately, she comes to terms with it.]]
* WhatDoYouMeanItsNotForKids: The Japanese Agency for Cultural Affairs referred to the show as an example of cultural excellence, and as such had public screenings of it in events where families with young children were heavily in attendance. Never mind the fact that it's a fanservice-heavy seinen show.
