* HoYay: There's a lot of beefcake in certain scenes (like the gym at Guile's Air Force base), and Ryu and Ken are very comfortable in each others' company. ''Especially'' in a certain pool scene. It has to be seen to be believed.[[note]]Ryu sees Ken has a pool, jumps in naked and tells Ken to join him - which Ken does, also while naked.[[/note]] This is made fun of in the Animaze dub, where Ken nervously rejects the idea of him and Ryu being "more than friends" after Chun-Li tells him that the boys have a really deep connection.

* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter: Out of all of the [[CanonForeigner Canon Foreigners]], Rinko, who appears in the first episode to see Ryu off, had the most potential since she was built up to be a love interest for Ryu. * HeartwarmingInHindsight: This series has Sagat on surprisingly friendly terms with Ryu considering that, at the time the series was released, the game's canon had Sagat ''hating'' Ryu and wanting revenge on him for scarring him. Cue ''VideoGame/StreetFighterIV'' and how Sagat's plot progresses in both it and its ''Super'' revision, and now Sagat and Ryu are on far better terms than they used to be, almost like this series.

When one of his goons, Donu, got caught by the police, Zochi has a mole assassinate him in order to [[HeKnowsTooMuch prevent him from giving vital information on the organization]]. After capturing Ryu and Ken, Zochi interrogates them before revealing his [[CreepySouvenir private collection of severed hands]] he gains from using a {{chainsaw|Good}} to cut them off and claim them as trophies, trying to cut off Ryu's hand to add it as part of his collections.

* AlternativeCharacterInterpretation: This series has alternate versions of the main casts' personalities:
** Ryu is much more of a typical {{shonen}} hero, in stark contrast to his [[TheStoic stoic]] persona in the games.
** Chun-Li is [[GenkiGirl more innocent, cheerful, and outgoing]], as she appears ''[[BreakTheCutie before]]'' [[spoiler:her beloved father is murdered]].
** Fei Long not only has AnimeHair but is ''far'' more HotBlooded and emotional than in the games, bordering sometimes on {{Tsundere}}.
** Bison and Shadaloo want to conquer the world so they can force humanity to stop abusing the environment and save the planet, almost making them [[WellIntentionedExtremist well-intentioned extremists]]. In the games, Bison is just rapacious and power-hungry, and Shadaloo is merely his tool in world domination.
