* FandomRivalry: Since [=FiM=], against several Franchise/MyLittlePony subgroups. Despite having an overlap, the more hardcore bronies see SSC as just another show vying for the limelight of their precious [=FiM=] and have no qualms dissing SSC on Hasbro's and The Hub's official pages on Facebook when said companies make a non-pony-related post. Likewise, some SSC fans are repulsed by the by the hardcore bronies' actions of dissing SSC on said Facebook pages and as a result held a HypeBacklash and enforced hatred towards [=FiM=] and said fandom group while remaining friendly towards the older MLP generations. Made much worse with the introduction of villains in Season 4, which many slice of life fans see as Hasbro giving in to the bronies.

* BrokenBase[=/=]TheyChangedItNowItSucks: Did the series break when A.) They started making material past the 1980s stuff. B.) They introduced villains and generally re-tooled the 2003 series. C.) Demoted Honey Pie Pony and the existing Fillies to extras, then immediately shove them on the bus, and then introduced new, bland Fillies with no personality in the formers' place a few months later. D.) Reboot the franchise again in 2009 and made the new show CGI. or E.) or did it never break?

* MisattributedSong: Due to the work of a troll who pretended to be a relative of someone working for Creator/DiCEntertainment, some of the WesternAnimation/StrawberryShortcake fandom are actually convinced that ''Nothing Lasts Forever'' is a song from an unaired 2003 SSC episode when it's in fact from an episode of WesternAnimation/PBAndJOtter called ''Hope Castle''. [=PB&J Otter=] itself is a show that had already been cancelled long before the SSC relaunch. Even after the fact was royally {{jossed}} with Disney Asia airing the remaining episodes and every single episode coming out on DVD, some of the fandom still chose to believe it was.

* GoddamnedBats
** Actually played straight without being a video game, although there is a video game based off the film that the goddamned bats were in. And you can turn them into butterflies using the magic wand.

* TheyChangedItNowItSucks: Orange Blossom having straight hair was not taken well. Also the switch to CGI from the predecessor's traditional animation, and the removal of fan favorites like Apple Dumplin', Ginger Snap and Angel Cake.

** Likewise, the 2009 series. SliceOfLife fans dislike Sour Grapes being introduced as a villain to season 4, but others applaud the fact that there's finally a villain for the girls to contend with.

Added DiffLines:

** The reintroduction of Sour Grapes as the series villain did not go well with the SliceOfLife crowd.

* TastesLikeDiabetes - One could say the 2003 reincarnation, up until the reintroduction of villains, was this. As is the 2009 franchise.

** Likewise, ''The Cuppycake Song'' and ''You're My Honeybunch'' were '''not''' from any of the 80s specials, they were by Amy Castle. And no, they're '''not''' unused songs from the 2003 series either (if you believe they were, you've been suckered by said troll).
