Kill Em All is no longer a trope

* BizarroEpisode: Episode 15 starts out normally enough, with Dave watching a commercial for a Space car wash and the Captain foolishly deciding to try it. Everyone evacuates the ship before a laser, which is meant to destroy vermin, [[KillEmAll completely obliterates all organic life on the ship]]. [[spoiler:The Captain however forgot [[CompanionCube her cacti]] and drags Dave and ARSCH along to save them, only for the people of the car wash to impersonate them and trick ARSCH into thinking [[MistakenForImpostor the real Dave and Captain are the impostors]], despite the PaperThinDisguise. At the very last minute, the two can convince ARSCH to let them go, but the Captain ends up leaving Dave behind. Dave ''actually dies'', skeleton and all. Then it turns out, [[MindScrew the entire episode was just a commercial for that same car wash]], with Dave and the Captain watching it. The former traumatized, the latter dismisses it, like Dave did in the beginning.]]

* FoeYay: Dave and ARSCH have a lot of moments between each other, despite ARSCH claiming how much he hates humanity, ''especially'' Dave.

* EnsembleDarkhorse:
** Some of the [[RedShirts Expendable Crewmembers]]:
*** Karl-Horst "Charlie" Helmutpetersen. For being the only one to actually have a name and [[ADayInTheLimelight having an episode dedicated to]] [[spoiler:his murder]].
*** Expendable Crewmember No. 14, since he's the only one who actually survived a mission.
*** Expendable Crewmember No. 1 from the LowerDeckEpisode, since he has [[GoodScarsEvilScars an interesting design]] and an enjoyable DeadpanSnarker personality.
*** The three Crewmembers from that same episode are also quite popular for being based on the GagDub versions of [[Franchise/HarryPotter Harry, Ron and Hermione]].

* {{Fanon}}: The pink-haired extra has a strong resemblance to [[WebAnimation/JapanoSchlampen Wake]]. Many viewers theorize that she's her descendant.

* JerkassWoobie:
** ARSCH counts, for being a [[AIIsACrapshoot sociopathic android]], who consistently belittles everyone around him... but also has major self-esteem issues and is craving for Dave's attention.
** Professor [=McProfessorface=] is only a villain because [[DesignatedVillain the show actively forces him into that position]]. All he wants is to return into the real world after a fatal accident, yet he gets treated like garbage by the crew of the USS Ente, to the point of them [[YankTheDogsChain actively stealing his happy ending]].

* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot: The Crossover with Japanoschlampen is pretty much a FakeCrossover, as the show is presented as a ShowWithinAShow in the Japanoschlampen-Universe. While the episode ''does'' have some neat fourth wall breaking jokes, it's still a missed opportunity, given the implications that they actually take place in the same universe or are at least MutuallyFictional.

** ''Dave'', so much. Summarized, he's a [[OnlySaneMan perfectly stable]] and friendly individual, yet gets [[NoRespectGuy no respect]] from his peers and is made the butt of jokes rather frequently.
** Flash, the explorer of Episode 3. [[spoiler:On his mission, he had to let the last member of a fat-sucking species kill his partner Gordon and steal his identity in order to prevent it's extinction. Once that specimen starts attacking Dave, the Captain kills it, leaving Flash all alone, knowing that his efforts were in vain]].
** All of the Expandable Crewmembers count, considering how they are a deconstruction of RedShirts. They ''know'' they can die at any given moment, and they have to live with that.
** The cacti-humanoid from Episode 21. [[spoiler:He beamed himself on board, without knowing [[TimeDilation that time is slowed down there]] and has to watch the destruction of his species due to overpopulation, while outliving his family members through multiple generations]]. Ouch.

**Captain/Stach Lee, or just the Captain and cacti in general.
**Liutenant Miffi and [[BigFuckingGun his gun]].
**Technically, [[RoboShip Dave/ARSCH]] could be seen as this.
*DesignatedVillain: Professor [=McProfessorface=] is mistreated by the main characters and was [[AndIMustScream locked into an USB]] ''for months''. He plans a revenge scheme against the crew of the USS Ente, but is perfectly [[AffablyEvil willing to let them live in peace as long as he gets to leave]]. They however trapped him in a virtual reality for no reason at all.
