The Nightmare Fuel trope was accidentally in the Choir Boys section instead of Porous Pockets.

* VindicatedByHistory: For a long time, the episode was seen as one of Season 6's worst, due to fans finding [=SpongeBob=] being a pompous Jerkass to be an unpleasant viewing experience. Opinions began turning around once fans realized that [=SpongeBob=] acting Out-of-Character was the entire point, as a way to teach him AnAesop about how money can't buy friendship. Nowadays, "Porous Pockets" is seen as an okay episode, having some decent bits of humor, a good moral, and a heartfelt ending.

!!Choir Boys:
* DesignatedHero: [=SpongeBob=] is treated as the protagonist of the episode who rightfully takes Squidward's spot as the new choir man, even though Squidward did nothing to deserve being constantly harassed by him aside from a very minor KickTheDog moment at the start.
* FanonDiscontinuity: Multiple Overly-Long Gags on top of [=SpongeBob=] grasping hard on the JerkassBall makes for an episode that numerous fans would prefer believing never happened.
* NauseaFuel: Squidward's hand after getting stung by jellyfish is extremely grotesque, complete with enlarged boils with pulsating veins.
* NeverLiveItDown: Fans have a hard time forgetting and forgiving [=SpongeBob=]'s behavior in this episode, due to him deliberately impeding Squidward just for not listening to his song and upstaging him at the choir practice. Him flinging Squidward into a "captive audience" of jellyfish is seen as one of the show's biggest nadirs.
