The duo didn't "antagonize" him; they told Squidward not to come up with awful wording that made Squidward think he was antagonizing him. Plus Patrick asks the Magic Conch if Squidward can have food and apologizes after it says no. Yeah the duo is still at fault and Squidward does have a point but I am adjusting the wording a little.

* UnintentionallySympathetic: Squidward is supposed to bring his own misfortune upon himself but Spongebob and Patrick did antagonize him into the treehouse and he only got them lost by accident when he tried to get out. Once lost, Squidward is the only one being remotely realistic about the situation that they need to focus on survival and getting out. Patrick and Spongebob were relying on a toy for guidance and it only worked because the duo is BornLucky, and the duo deliberately denied him food because a toy told them to.

* FranchiseOriginalSin: Later seasons will be [[KafkaKomedy torturing Squidward for no good reason]], but here, he gets nearly starved to death because of the duo's stupidity. The only difference is that at least here, he brought the misfortunes in the first half upon himself and [=SpongeBob=] and Patrick are in character for the rest, whereas the later seasons will torture him mercilessly just for minding his own business.
* SugarWiki/FunnyMoments: The magic conch saying "No" to Squidward over and over and over is pretty funny on its own, but when she says it one last time with a slightly cockier inflection, it's a million times funnier.
