* AccidentalInnuendo: The newspaper comic reading [=SpongeBob=] tells at the party ("panel one: we see Roxy Wisenheimer with some sort of rake. Wait, I can't read from this!"), which is followed by the guests loudly cheering (until becoming silent when [=SpongeBob=] reveals that it's just because it's from yesterday's paper) can be read as the comic seemingly being a DoubleEntrendre about hoes, with the audience catching on and cheering when [=SpongeBob=] realizes this.

TRS mandated cleanup. Humiliation Conga is supposed to be Karmic/Deserved retribution.

* AlternativeCharacterInterpretation: While [=SpongeBob=] was indeed being bossy at his party, it was only because the party planner guide said that "an unsupervised party can lead to disaster". Knowing [=SpongeBob's=] absolute willingness to follow orders, as well as his tendency to be LiteralMinded, [=SpongeBob comes=] off as more of a WellIntentionedExtremist than a {{Jerkass}}.

YMMV cannot be played with. Plus the other examples I think were for Rule Of Funny. The key under the mat was the only Ass Pull.

* AssPull: [=SpongeBob=] had a key under the mat the entire time? Well, it clearly was NOT there when [=SpongeBob=] was stranded outside and was ONLY shown to joke about [=SpongeBob=]'s easy pass inside.
** The police officers showing up out of nowhere to arrest [=SpongeBob=] for [[FelonyMisdemeanor not inviting him to his house]] also qualifies as such.
* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: "Underwater Sun" is surprisingly good for a song being performed by birds
* BrokenBase: The episode's quality. Some people think it's one of the worse pre-movie episodes, no thanks to [=SpongeBob=] uncharacteristically bossing everyone around at his party and unnecessary filler; others find it to be a decent episode with some good jokes.
* JerkassWoobie: [[DownplayedTrope Downplayed;]] [=SpongeBob=] is definitely being bossy in this episode, but his actions were misguided instead of malicious and it's hard not to feel bad for him when he's thrown out of his own house and [[DisproportionateRetribution arrested for not inviting the police.]]

* JerkassWoobie: Spongebob is bossy to everyone in this episode (getting angry at his guests for ''talking to each other'' and one shot implies that he intentionally cut the power to Squidward's house just so that he can have him at the party) but it's hard not to feel bad for him. He breaks down briefly when he assumes no one will come to his party and is blissfully unaware that his schedule for the party is utterly boring everyone. And then he accidentally locks himself outside his house when he's getting newspaper and while it does become funny he ends up having a rather ''rough'' night. He tries to get anyones attention but can't due to the loud party music so he tries various ways to get back in only for them to backfire on him horribly. Some examples include getting his door slammed in his face by his best friend (who was unaware that he was there) ''right when he was at the doorway'', getting his window slammed on his fingers by Larry (who also didn't know that he was there) and falling to the ground when trying to get into his bathroom and finally getting stomped on by Pearl while she was doing the bunny hop when he tried to dig his way back in. But it doesn't stop there. Fed up and at his breaking point, he tries to break into his own house in a bunny outfit (because he was suppose to lead the bunny hop instead of Pearl which set him off in the first place) with a pickaxe only to be caught by two police officers who nearly arrest him for breaking and entering and ''then'' arrest him for the "crime" of ''not inviting them to his party'' forcing him to miss out on ''his own party.'' They try to handcuff him but find it to be broken so they use an old-fashioned wooden shackle instead. And after spending a night in jail he then finds the inside of his house to be a complete mess (and that's ''before'' he finds out that he had a spare key the entire time meaning that he suffered and spent the night in jail for nothing). While he does find out that he threw an amazing party it's hard not to feel sorry for him after everything he went through.

Fed up and at his breaking point, he tries to break into his own house in a bunny outfit with a pickaxe only to be caught by two police officers who nearly arrest him for breaking and entering and ''instead'' arrest him for the "crime" of ''not inviting them to his party'' forcing him to miss out on ''his own party'' and after spending a night in jail he then finds the inside of his house to be a complete mess.

* BrokenBase: The episode's quality. Some people think it's one of more forgettable pre-movie episodes; no thanks to [=SpongeBob=] uncharacteristically bossing everyone around at his party and unnecessary filler, while others find it okay in its own right with some okay jokes.

* {{Earworm}}: Even detractors of the episode agree that "Underwater Sun" ''was'' an amazing and catchy song.

** The police officers arresting [=SpongeBob=] for no good reason also qualifies as such.

** The police officers arresting [=SpongeBob=] for no good reason but just for him not inviting them to his party (obviously NOT illegal) also qualifies as such.

* AssPull: SpongeBob had a key under the mat the entire time? Well, it clearly was NOT there when SpongeBob was stranded outside and was ONLY shown to joke about SpongeBob's easy pass inside.
