However, the pronounciation turns it into a pun, since they prounce it as "Ooh-la-la"...which is a phrase that is often uttered by people when they see beautiful women. Conveniently this is part of the game.

* ValuesDissonance: Part 2 has this a bit. In the Japanese version, Purge is actually mentally disabled/insane to the point where he can't function in society properly and has delusions that he's a messiah that has to save everyone by dancing. Despite this, the game portrays him as a CompleteMonster instead of someone who needs help. Also, whilst Ulala and the rest of the galaxy sending him to space can be justified as self-defence (he did try to blast them with a Satellite after all), it would normally be treated as a ShootTheDog moment, rather then a KickTheSonOfABitch one. The US version waters down Purge a bit, and makes him bratty so it feels like he got what he deserved. This is because the Japanese tend to view delusions of grandeur as something ''insanely bad'' and very dangerous with pretty terrible immediate consequences, regardless of the reasons behind it.

* SpecialEffectsFailure: Part 1 has aged pretty badly, mainly cause they did the "Resident Evil" thing when they made it, pre-rendered backgrounds with the character models over them. It looks pretty obvious nowadays and like the characters are dancing on a green screen. Part 2 averts it as as the models and settings are rendered in real time and look more natural.

** For that matter, ''any'' level where you have to either get delayed commands ("Up.....up hey!") or where they send a ''ton'' of commands at you. (There is one part in stage 4 in ''Part 2'' where you have ''twenty two'' commands to repeat!)

* FoeYay: Remember Blank's line about how he was always watching over Ulala? Well, that line's similar to the line on the wallpaper: [[FridgeLogic "I always want you watching over me."]]

* {{Mondegreen}}:
** First time you hear "chu" from the enemies in report 1 of ''Part 1'', it sounds like "Tits", "Kiss" or "Kick".
** Part 1 never subtitled or otherwise wrote "chu" in any text, leading a lot of people (including the creators of the WebAnimation/YouTubePoop parodies) to think it was "shoot". The GBA version cleared that up, since it needed to replace most of the voiced dialog with text to save cart space.
** In report 4 of ''Part 2'', when cheerleaders say "right", it sounds like "left". During the battle with Purge in the same report, you can hear a lot of "Damn!" or "Sheet".
** In report 3 of ''Part 2'', it sounds like [[DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything Pine is saying "Dirty" when she fires the Space Police's cannons, and Ulala sounds like she's saying "Clean" when she would normally say "chu".]]

** "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-123v1bXpo Rescue Space Michael]], a fittingly funky tune to rescue the [[Music/MichaelJackson King of Pop]] to, and even features the man himself beatboxing on the track.

* DistractedByTheSexy: Whether it be Ulala, Pine, Purge or Shadow, you may get distracted by the characters' dance moves.
* DracoInLeatherPants: Purge does have a sad backstory, but fangirls take this to a whole different level. Remember fans: Purge does not comprehend love.

* EvilIsSexy: Evila, Purge, and Shadow for some.

* ThatOneBoss:
** Evila, Giant Evila and Purge the King have made many people toss their controllers.
** Blank TV can also be irritating at times, seeing as he has no exact rhythm. Also, if you screw up, he makes it EVEN HARDER. And you don't have many hearts to screw up with this boss.
