Actor trivia shoehorn

* HilariousInHindsight: This wouldn't be the only film Glenn Plummer would play a gangster doing time in prison leaving his son to be taken care of by his mother.

"What an Idiot!" is now Flame Bait.

* WhatAnIdiot:
** The Deuces leave pretty much all the evidence the cops need, even the gun, at the scene of Genie Lamp's murder.
** The Deuces also fall for the most obvious sting of all time: a very attractive white woman in South Central LA of all places pretends to be a prostitute, and they fall for it, confessing to murder and selling drugs for some reasonTo be fair, it was Loco who was doing most of the flexing., which gets them all arrested.

* SomeAnvilsNeedToBeDropped: As Anvilicious as it may seem for some, this film makes a great point about the lack of positive parental figures and role models in poor black communities that can lead to a vicious cycle of senseless violence as children find refuge in gangs. Ali kicks this knowledge to Bobby, which straightens him up and finally pays off in the end.

needs an article or post detailing the unfortunate implications

* UnfortunateImplications: Much like many other hood films (which Film/DontBeAMenaceToSouthCentralWhileDrinkingYourJuiceInTheHood hung a nice lampshade on), many black female characters are portrayed in an unflattering light, and without complexity or nuance like the men. To be fair to this film, there was one black nurse that was nothing but loving, wholesome, and motherly to Jimmy, who definitely needed a positive mother figure after his real mother abused and neglected him.

* SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments:
** Bobby's whole redemption arc, which includes warming up to his Muslim cellmate Ali, and genuinely becoming a better man for his son.
** Jimmy's nurse is one of the sweetest characters to ever grace a HoodFilm, being a wholesome, loving mother figure that Jimmy especially needs due to his actual mother being an abusive drug addict.
** Jimmy decides not to kill the old man who shot him, and hugs his father.

** After killing Genie Lamp, the Deuces sans Bobby all look terrified and remorseful, just as they were all hellbent on enacting revenge on him and were doing it rather brutally. It probably would've made for a poignant MyGodWhatHaveIDone moment from them if it weren't such a stark contrast.

* Narm:
** Loco is clearly trying very hard (and failing even harder) to emulate a Creator/ChrisTucker or Creator/JimCarrey-esque, overexaggerated, quirky performance, but it comes off as very irritating and hard to watch.
** Buddha similarly has very weird, exaggerated facial expressions when he speaks, which is even more awkward considering that he's not trying to be funny like Loco.
