* AccidentalInnuendo: The episode "Book Burning" begins with Bow and Adora sneaking into a schoolhouse incognito. Their choice of masks bear an awkward resemblance to UsefulNotes/KuKluxKlan hoods.

Added DiffLines:

* AuthorsSavingThrow: Possibly unintentional, but Madame Razz introducing the Rebellion as the "right side" has often been criticized for being self-righteous and over-simplistic, considering real-life conflicts can often be nuanced. In the series proper, Adora is usually understanding when characters are unsure about supporting the Rebellion, which occasionally endears people to her side.

* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter: The Star Sisters only appear in one episode and they're not even involved in the episode's conflict. Also, Tallstar was the only one who got to demonstrate her powers.
** Entrapta is in four episodes and speaks only two of them.
* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot: At the end of "Assault on the Hive" Sweet Bee and her people decide to settle on Etheria and join the Rebellion. Unfortunately, this was the third-to-last episode of the series.

* PlatonicWritingRomanticReading: The movie's opening theme [[https://youtu.be/MkZ68Ch7-ys I Have The Power]] sounds like a romantic duet, and includes lines like "I'd walk the universe to find her, For better or for worse beside her" and "Forever more we'll be together, Our hearts will soar one to the other". However, the singers are supposed to be singing from the perspectives of Adam and Adora, who are [[LongLost Relative (long-lost)]] siblings. The song has even been played at weddings.

* OutOfTheGhetto: The GirlShowGhetto was interestingly avoided; most of the male audience who watched ''He-Man'' also watched ''She-Ra''. But on the other hand girls didn't suddenly start liking ''She-Ra'' just because the main character was a girl. The toy line, however, didn't fare as well (see below).

** In retrospect the Horde occupation of Etheria and the rebellion fighting them seem unfortunately similar to [[Series/StarTrekDeepSpaceNine the Cardassian occupation of Bajor]], only with less bloodshed and terrorist acts. Made even eerier by the lead female characters of each plot having names that rhyme.

** The episode where Frosta kidnaps Prince Adam from Eternia because it's blatantly obvious she wants to have sex with him, despite his apparent disinterest. Played for laughs at the time it aired but the entire scenario didn't age well, especially when compared to Billy Kincaid kidnapping Cyan for the same reasons in WesternAnimation/ToddMcFarlanesSpawn

She's a lesbian herself. So her reasons against the show hasn't to do with homophobia.

** The show's popularity with the LGBT fanbase, in regards to Melendy Britt's criticism of the Netflix series containing rants that could be taken as homophobic simply because the new series has lesbian characters, which she vocally disapproved of.

** Still on the Brazilian dub and its connection to Franchise/DCAnimatedUniverse, Catra was voiced by Marlene Costa, who, later on, voiced [[Comicbook/{{Catwoman}} another cat-themed villainess]] in ''WesternAnimation/BatmanTheAnimatedSeries''. And before ''She-Ra'', she had voiced the HalfHumanHybrid CatGirl Kittrina in an episode of He-Man's show, "The Cat and the Spider".

Not YMMV and a misuse. The trope refers to when a character dresses in a way they're too young or too old to be dressing, it is not for complaining about children's media feautring characters with revealing attire.

* AgeInappropriateDress: On a meta-level. In a show aimed at young kids, all of the characters wear short dresses and go-go boots, with lots of cleavage as well. Even the male characters get in on it with their own revealing chestplates! It's a little disconcerting.
