*** Given the final issue of Spencer's run, and the writer of Volume 3 co-wrote ''"To Maim A Mockingbird"'' to cap Volume 2, it's especially likely that Kot will be using [[spoiler:Mockingbird, Quake and the Winter Soldier]] in the new run.

to:

*** Given What doesn't help matters is that the final issue of Spencer's run, and the new volume's writer Ales Kot has specified that Bobbi and Quake probably won't play a part in anything he's got planned, and Bucky's new ongoing (also written by Kot) has kept Bucky and Daisy together but no has no mention of Volume 3 co-wrote ''"To Maim A Mockingbird"'' to cap Volume 2, it's Bobbi, or where she went. While there's plenty of fans who like the new series and don't mind this, a number of fans, especially likely that Kot will be using [[spoiler:Mockingbird, Quake and the Winter Soldier]] in the new run.fans of Mockingbird, aren't too happy by her being PutOnABus.

* JerkassWoobie: Sure, [[spoiler: Barbara]] is was apparently working for the Cult of Entropy, Forson, and killed a group of SHIELD agents years ago, but it's hard to hold it against her when she looks so miserable and Forson makes it obvious that her life is only worth anything if she's with him. That the last two issues consist of her seeing Forson brutally have Yelena murdered while she was wearing camotech that made everyone believe that she was Mockingbird, then almost being murdered by Forson after fighting back, lying on the floor and looking like she might stay there and bleed to death for a few panels before she gets up and staggers to the door.

* VillainSue: Forsen, arguably. His plan has seemingly been years in the making, given the revelation that he [[spoiler: and Mockingbird knew each other and were working together on his plans seemingly since her very first appearance in comics, long before she took the name Mockingbird (or the nickname Bobbi)]]. Given his plans apparently relied on Mockingbird not only being on this team but also being left behind on AIM Island (thus requiring him to be able to BatmanGambit not only her, but also Maria Hill and Daisy Johnson), the fact Bobbi had spent years away from SHIELD, on the run from them at one point, and was '''dead''' for a while, it makes them working out so well a huge stretch.

[[spoiler: Which is possibly why his plan completely falls apart]]

** The loss of Mockingbird, Taskmaster (two of the most popular characters from the run) and Quake for MODOK and Spider-Woman for the relaunch was splitting the base from the moment the relaunch was announced.

* CrowningMomentOfAwesome: Natasha's conversation with Clint at the beginning of #5, especially when Clint has complained several times about being on the team, and he says that he will quit this time. [[spoiler: Particularly great because once she gets to telling him to accept it, he's looking away as if he's suddenly remembered that Natasha's experiences in her life have usually been more dangerous and psychologically damaging than this--and she didn't get to forget them, and she didn't get to walk away because she never had a choice in the first place.]]
-->'''Natasha''': [[spoiler: But you do get out of this. Every time you go in. You understand? Tomorrow, you will forget this ever happened. Consider it a gift. This isn't the Red Room. We're not victims of anything here. We chose to do this. They came to us, and they asked us. We could've said no, and we didn't. Once you accept that, you'll realise, whether you like it or not--no one here is lying to you--You're only lying to yourself.]]
** The speech also counts as a TearJerker when you realise that [[spoiler: Natasha has never been given this choice before, and most of the time she's done this sort of work, she had no option to walk away and was essentially trapped. At this point she's talking to the person who was a catalyst in her eventually getting away from that part of her life, and she was almost killed for it then. SHIELD, despite their morally gray practices, are probably the best employers Natasha has had as a spy.]]
** #6 has a bunch. Mockingbird [[spoiler: successfully holds her own against Taskmaster, who can mimic the fighting abilities of anyone he fights]]. Mockingbird and Taskmaster get right to the heart of AIM headquarters, taking out anyone they encounter along the way.
*** Meanwhile, Rhodes is asked to help with the Iron Patriot problem, and does it in spectacular fashion.

** #15 has Clint [[spoiler: crying while he holds Bobbi's body in his arms after she is shot (it turns out to be Yelena when the camotech is deactivated) and in #16 he quits the team after what happened to her. Maria doesn't blame him.]]
** #16 has Maria [[spoiler: looking upset as she activates the reverie on Rhodey and Hawkeye, since this team was her dream, and not only is one member dead, another likely is, and two others have left. Not only that, but she's been backed into a corner and had to make a deal with MODOK in order to weed out the people working for AIM within SHIELD.]]

** From the ''Infinity'' tie-ins, there's [[DeadpanSnarker Sarah]] [[{{Adorkable}} Garza]], a newly awakened Inhuman SHIELD agent. For a character who only appeared for two issues, she was very well liked, with many fans wanting her back.

* NonindicativeName: Originally, while the title was Secret Avengers, it focused HEAVILY on Steve Rogers rather then the rest of the original cast or keeping their activities below radar during Brubaker's run. Later runs seemed to have addressed this with other characters getting more time in the spotlight, as well as a increased emphasis on not being identified.
