** [[StrawFeminist Dorothy Cambridge]], the biology teacher that appeared for an eight-strip-long story arc in 2014 did not win anybody over either, especially with her poor treatment of Cloud. * FreudianExcuse: Some fans have taken to interpreting Zoey's bullying/AlphaBitch practices as being merely symptoms of her [[spoiler:low self-esteem due to struggling with homosexuality and a disastrous coming-out event]], Larisa's counter-bullying of Zoey (and generally trolling, destructive, violent behavior) as an attempt to confront her [[spoiler:acute sense of mortality, due to a terminal illness]] and Ye Thuza's questionable parenting as a misguided attempt to overcompensate for her own horrific childhood as a child soldier. Of course, none of this changes the facts that Zoey is still incredibly mean to kids who can't defend themselves, Larisa still sets people's possessions on fire without permission, and Ye Thuza still threatened her son with a sword.

Fastforward to the Divine Comedy: Larisa makes a deal with the devil to save Sandra, and will become a succubus if she successed because it'll be a waste of her talests to be anything lesser than that.

Even the story ended with [[CorruptCorporateExecutive Goldman Sach]] having to lobby to [[EvenEvilHasStandards get 47 million Snippic user general amnesty to prevent economic disaster]] except for [[TearJerker a real-life whistleblower who leaked CIA documents]]. Considering that America has highest incarceration rates in the world, this is something to not to be subtle.
* StrawmanHasAPoint: Although the city council were portrayed as villain in Roundabout story arc, they do have a point since [[http://www.sandraandwoo.com/2014/12/04/0639-roundabout-i/ Ye Thuza]] could have hurt her daughter. Not to mention her questionable methods.

** Despite the characters' ages, there was a LoveTriangle among Sandra, Cloud and Larisa early in the comic, until Cloud chose Sandra and Larisa started a relationship with Landon.

** Unfortunately, it seems that Luna's Woobie-ness continues even after some PetTheDog moments for her - after getting hooked up with a crush of hers, she finds herself [[http://www.sandraandwoo.com/2016/02/08/0759-emergency-pack casually dumped afterwards.]]
* {{Woolseyism}}: After comparing the German and English text, it is safe to assume, that most, if not all of the text is written initially in English and then translated into German (sometimes the cultural references, slang and word plays can be translated, sometimes not (both the ones in the text or sometimes even those drawn ones).

* HilariousInHindsight: Landon's mom, Harriet, believed Larisa to actually be a witch. Medieval witches were women that obtained powers via a deal with the devil. Fastforward to the Divine Comedy: Larisa makes a deal with the devil to save Sandra, and will become a succubus if she successed because it'll be a waste of her talests to be anything lesser than that.

* WriteWhatYouKnow: The writer of ''Sandra and Woo'' is very interested in raccoons and wrote several Wikipedia articles about the species. He was also the creator of the Wikipedia article about the comic.

* CanonSue: Ye Thuza is starting to become this, as she is beginning to do some morally and legally [[http://www.sandraandwoo.com/2014/07/31/0603-puff/ questionable]] [[http://www.sandraandwoo.com/2014/12/11/0641-roundabout-iii/ things]] in the comic, and not getting in any trouble for it. While she has always been a rebellious character, fans wonder whether she is taking things too far recently.

Half the stuff Larisa does is TroublingUnchildlikeBehaviour and she's an avid {{pyromaniac}}. You tend to love her for the last part.

** Exaggerated (to the point of possible parody/satire) in the Armin Fish arc. The titular payment collector demands Sandra as payment of her father's Internet service. Why? ''To eat her.''. Thanks to Woo's surprisingly strong bite that actually ''rips off'' Fish's forearm and only leaves part of his upper arm bone visible, the situation is avoided It was still very inhumane, though.

** Although with what she has seen of Larisa, Landon's religious mother has at least some justification for disliking Larisa and not wanting her son to see her...but then she sees her son with a painting given to him by Larisa for his birthday that she does not like, and proceeds to deliberately destroy the painting and threaten to ''beat'' her son if he ever sees Larisa again. [[spoiler:She apparently backs down on this after Michelle tells her that Landon was actually gay until he began dating Larisa.]]
