"What an Idiot!" is now Flame Bait.

* UnintentionalPeriodPiece: In a downplayed way, but Ruby notes that she's the only person at Tate Prep who doesn't have a cellphone because she's a scholarship student, but today phones are much easier to get and aren't limited to rich people. In the second book, Nora also admits to Ruby that she's been emailing Kim while Kim's been away in Tokyo - nowadays they would probably use either Instant Messenger or Facebook to talk to each other. (Funnily enough, IM is mentioned in the series, but phonecalls and notes are more common.)
* WhatAnIdiot: Ruby throwing away her first draft of the boyfriend list at school, where anybody could (and does) find it. She lampshades this.
