You can’t exactly foreshadow a flat tire. And it causing them to lose is the set up.

* AntiClimaxBoss: The Ice Dancers get removed from the game due to a flat tire.

* PanderingToTheBase: The high number of cameos in this episode (the most obvious being Anne Maria from ''Revenge of the Island'' in plain sight) comes across as this to some.

Oddly enough, [[BrokenBase some believe that it doesn't pander ENOUGH to the base]], and would have [[TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter liked to see more of their favorites appear]].

* PanderingToTheBase: The high number of cameos in this episode (the most obvious being Anne Maria from ''Revenge of the Island'' in plain sight) comes across as this to some as it feels like they're there as a last-ditch effort by the production team to try and elevate an otherwise lackluster finale.

Anti Climax is not YMMV.

* AntiClimax: After spending the entire season making enemies and proving what depths they're willing to sink to in order to win, the antagonistic Ice Dancers are abruptly removed from the competition halfway through the episode, with virtually no sendoff (other than Don's eccentric announcement) or karmic retribution (except earning bronze and having to watch the Cadets win the season). The finalists end up being the Cadets and the Surfers -- who play fair and have absolutely no conflict with each other. The uneventful nature of the ensuing final stretch is {{lampshaded}} by a few of the eliminated teams, including the Ice Dancers themselves.
** There are also some people who thought that the was uneventful even when the Ice Dancers were still a part of it due to most of the challenge essentially being a rehash of the challenge from the first episode.
