Rewatching this episode, there was a point on them asking if Jerry checking his phone, but he never did probably due to putting all electronics, his possibly included, away

While it's nice that the episode shows a loving polyamorous relationship and Beth and Summer being accepting of it, the fact is that Jerry's parents just brought Jacob along without telling Jerry who he is or even that he'd be coming with them, and Jacob and Joyce later start making out on the couch in front of everyone. It's a lot to have just dropped on you at once, and it's hard to blame Jerry for feeling confused and rather upset by it. What's more, he does seem to come around to accepting Jacob by the end of the episode.
