* WhatDoYouMeanItWasntMadeOnDrugs: It's a weird, weird show, and it just gets weirder as it goes on. Key elements include:
** An android that can take the form of a bronze-skinned naked woman who flies in a T-pose and can blow people to red mist with her voice. Touching her internal organs can cause a human to rapidly swell up with tumors until they die. She gets her powers from her removable eyes, which can give a human superpowers when swallowed.
** An alien planet haunted by a mysterious, unknowable entity that somehow influenced an ancient Roman mystery cult on Earth to worship it as a god.
** A giant flying serpent born from an immaculate conception between said android and said godlike entity.
** A supercomputer that appears to be made from fungi.
** [[spoiler:A biological weapon stored in a mouse that causes the people it infects to mutate into snakes.]]
** [[spoiler:A magic box that opens when a woman sings to it, containing a seed. When the woman touches the seed, it sinks into her skin, causing her to transform into a tree, which is then swallowed whole by the aforementioned giant serpent.]]
** A one-million-year-old android skeleton that "grows" back to life when fuel is poured on it. [[spoiler:Said android intends to transform all the humans in the show into fish people for their own good.]]

* PhysicalGod: Mother has a vast array of superpowers, including [[GunsAreUseless invulnerability,]] super-strength, mind-control, heat breath, freezing breath, the ability to microwave people to various degrees of dead by yelling at them, a scream that can reduce a human to chunky salsa, flight, telekinesis, shapeshifting, and voice mimicry. She also is apparently trained in [[BoxingLessonsForSuperman hand-to-hand combat]] just in case another android squares up on her. So long as her Necromancer eyes [[WeaksauceWeakness are in place,]] she's usually completely unstoppable.

Escaping his punishment when Mother destroys the Ark, Otho attaches a severed android head onto his ExplosiveLeash to prevent his helmet from killing him and when discovered by Caleb and his soldiers, Otho exploits Caleb's SanitySlippage to convince Caleb to spare him; Otho would attempt to kill Mother on Caleb's command by burning her alive. Otho would encounter Mother again where she would drain blood from him until Otho reverses the procedure, significantly weakening Mother while gaining SuperStrength, which Otho would use in an attempt to kill all of the children under Mother's care before strangling Tempest, the girl Otho impregnated when he raped her.

* SpiritualSuccessor: To producer Creator/RidleyScott's ''Franchise/{{Alien}}'' [[Film/{{Prometheus}} prequel]] [[Film/AlienCovenant series]], expanding on those films' themes of religion and creation stories (as well as contrasting androids against humans and presenting androids who wish to become creators themselves), but without the bounds of a famous franchise constraining the storyline.

** Mother's true Necromancer form, a brass humanoid that's nearly indestructible and can quickly destroy anything standing in her way.
