** ''Warrior Within'' may be a case in and of itself, as it released the year after ''VideoGame/JakIIRenegade'' that made a similar changes compared to its first installment.

* GameBreaker: Eye of the Storm makes combat encounters a breeze. It makes enemies sitting ducks as they're too slow to land a hit on you and they're incapable of blocking your attacks while the power is active but what makes it a true GameBreaker is that killed enemies drop sands, allowing you to use the power indefinitely if you play your cards right. Activate Eye of the Storm to easily pick off an enemy, take its sands to replenish the consumed sand tank, activate the power again, kill another enemy, repeat until all enemies are dead.

* IconicSequelOutfit: While the game itself is a BrokenBase amongst fans, the Prince's outfit in this game remains his most iconic look and was reused in ''VideoGame/PrinceOfPersiaTheForgottenSands'' and [[Film/PrinceOfPersiaTheSandsOfTime the film adaption]]. In ''[[VideoGame/PrinceOfPersiaTheLostCrown]]'', this outfit was added to the game ''before'' the one from ''The Sands of Time''.

** The Prince will shout and yell with full rage and anger whenever his weapons hit a target. [[DieChairDie This includes inanimate props like chairs, barrels and weapon racks you're destroying for Sands and weapons]].
* NeverLiveItDown: ''Warrior Within'' is remembered as one of the most popular cases of video games having a DarkerAndEdgier turn compared to their previous installments, especially when the Prince's personality sees a drastic change. Within the fanbase however, [[BrokenBase some like this change, some do not]]. Even if the next game, ''The Two Thrones'' went back to the fairytale-like mood set by ''Sands of Time'', comparisons to this game were still inevitable.
* PortingDisaster: A more downplayed example, as it stands, it's amazing how it looks and it plays on the PSP version called "Revelations". Honestly, it's a complete version of the game. However, the extra dungeons... are quite a pain, and a few players have bypassed them by [[BonusFeatureFailure glitching them]], due the fact that they have [[HitboxDissonance poor collision detection]]. Quite a shame, because the Statue Chamber looks amazing.

** The entire opening can count for the blood-themed loading screens, very hastily-animated opening cutscenes, Hard Rock music, the aforementioned obligatory swearing, and the BadGirlComic theming of Shadee captivating the men on both her ship and the Prince's (including the Prince himself). Once the Prince makes it onto the island the game never quite reaches these extremes until the GoldenEnding when the Prince sexually claims Kaileena as his prize.
** The Prince will shout and yell with full rage and anger whenever his weapons hit a target. This includes minor enemies like crows that are almost not worth the bother, and [[DieChairDie This includes inanimate props like chairs, barrels and weapon racks you're destroying for Sands and weapons]].
** Despite being the rage-fueled emo-gothic badass that he is in ''Warrior Within'', the Prince still uses most of the actions from ''The Sands of Time'' with unchanged animations, including the dainty wall runs and having to balance clumsily on the horizontal beams.

** Much like the other two games in the trilogy, the [[UpdatedReRelease HD port]] of ''Warrior Within'' is locked to 30fps and is missing many of the graphical features from the PC release, including the blooming, and introduces graphical errors like Kaileena's physics-driven cloth being darker than the rest of her. About the only advantage you get are widescreen (which can be easily modded in on PC) and better environmental textures.

* ScrappyMechanic: The loading screen in PC version. It's a long, unskippable animation that you have to sit through every time even on modern machines where load times are instantaneous. Thankfully, this can by resolved by deleting the video files used by the screen.

** The female enemies, they're mostly the same as any other enemy, except they cling on to your back and stab you, leaving you vulnerable and knocks you on the floor.

** As he watches his past self try and activate the second tower, the Prince, as the Sand Wraith, confidently thinks to himself that [[TemptingFate there's plenty of time to get back to the throne room before everything goes wrong]]. Then a [[GiantMook brute]] comes out of nowhere and tosses him through a wall and into a side chamber, rendering him unconscious long enough to negate that time advantage. The irony isn't lost on the Prince.

* AuthorsSavingThrow: By learning the AntiClimaxBoss that finished ''The Sands of Time'' was a major complaint by players, Ubisoft made it a priority delivering a good, challenging FinalBoss ([[spoiler:The Dahaka in case the Prince got the Water Blade, Kaileena otherwise]]).

* ThatOneAttack: Shahdee's grab attack. It doesn't have any cues or telegraphs at all, which makes it unavoidable when it comes unless you're already holding the block button. Her kick attack in the second fight also counts since it cannot be blocked and sends Prince flying, often into the bottomless pit surrounding the arena.
