* UnfortunateImplications: The African American gets demoted from his role as team leader and is replaced by a Caucasian Ranger (even if he's not from Earth).

** I remember being annoyed that they made Justin a power ranger (he was just a 12 year old!) and almost every time I saw him in Turbo, I cringed. But the final Turbo episodes made me feel sorry for him (he stayed behind on Earth and left the team), and I was hoping to see him again so that things could end on a happy note for him. Fortunately, they did. He got to learn that his friends had lived, he saved the "super cars" (who were turned into slaves by Divatox), and his father finally paid attention to him, going on a fishing trip. To make someone want to see a once-disliked character again isn't an easy thing to do. It's like making people want to see Anakin Skywalker as a boy again. A difficult task, but they did it.

** ThePsychoRangers, for giving EvilCounterparts to the Power Rangers that were finally characters with individual personalities and villains in their own right rather than just a cheap EvilKnockOff. They're sheer [[{{Badass}} badassery]] also helped. They were popular enough to have a trope named after them. Even 15 years later, the fact that they were never made into action figures is still a sore subject in some parts of the Ranger fandom.

* FanonDiscontinuity: One episode is ignored by the fandom. It's not hard to guess.guess, but for those who don't know, it's the episode where it crosses over with "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation." AKA the TMNT show that the Ninja Turtles fans ''badly'' wish to forget ever happened.

** Also, the Ninja Turtles crossover. An oft-speculated teamup, and not only is it the Turtles from The Next Mutation, meaning unpopular [[SixthRanger Fifth Turtle]] Venus is there, but the Turtles are written as morons and spend much of the episode as brainwashed flunkies to Astronema. That said, the final battle ended up almost making up for it.

** Kind of a meta example, but in the full version of the theme song there are the lyrics "Long live the Power Rangers." To elaborate. "In Space" was meant to be (and was in fact written as) the finale of Power Rangers as a franchise. This addition to the lyrics reflected this mindset, but if one looks at it from today and notices the 12+ seasons that followed...
