** There's a moment in the movie where Damos cooks with his Pokémon Chikorita and Cyndaquil by commanding Chikorita to cut white carrots and Cyndaquil to make a fire in the chimney. Years later, we get the game Palworld, which allows you to command your Pals to cook. People have joked about that scene, as Palworld already has an anime.

* CompleteMonster: In the manga adaptation, by Makoto Mizobuchi, [[AdaptationalVillainy Markus]] lacks [[WellIntentionedExtremist the redeeming qualities]] of his anime counterpart. A manipulative GodhoodSeeker, Markus seeks to kill Arceus in order to become a god himself, [[UngratefulBastard uncaring and ungrateful that Arceus nearly gave its life to save humanity]]. [[DirtyCoward Unwilling to put himself in danger]], Markus hypnotizes his own ally Damos to have him do the deed instead; this only results in Arceus killing both Damos and Markus in rage. When Ash and company arrive from the far future and Markus learns of his impending death, Markus immediately changes his scheme, using the lethal "silver water" to almost kill Arceus [[MakeWrongWhatOnceWentRight in a bid to rewrite history and become omnipotent]]. Foiled again in this, Markus [[TakingYouWithMe blows up the temple they're fighting within so he can take the dozens of people and Pokémon still inside to the grave with him]].

Cut by the thread

* CompleteMonster: In the manga retelling by Makoto Mizobuchi, [[AdaptationalVillainy Marcus/Markus]] lacks the good intentions of his anime counterpart. Upon learning of Damos's acquiring the Jewel of Life from Arceus, Marcus decides to steal it for himself by using his Bronzong to hypnotize Damos and lure Arceus into a trap, then has all of his Pokémon electrocute him to death. Marcus uses a [[MindControlDevice special armor]] to control the Pokémon and beats them if they rebel. When the heroes of the present travel to this era to prevent the event from taking place, Marcus improves his trap by pouring silver water onto Arceus, while his Pokémon carry out their usual commands. When the heroes learn and warn Marcus that his action will [[TimeCrash damage the space-time continuum]], he admits he doesn't care and is glad to see this happen as it would make him feel like a god. When the heroes foil Marcus's plan, he kills himself, [[DeadMansSwitch activating a mechanism]] that would collapse the temple and kill hundreds of Pokémon and humans [[TakingYouWithMe out of sheer spite]].
