** Ginghamphatts in ''Samurai's Destiny'', but only if [[spoiler: you are really friendly with Magoichi. The latter will suddenly show up, talk you about his next goals and nonchalantly turn the big fellow to dust with a shot from his {{BFG}}]].
** Nobunaga's Golden Evil Statue form from ''Samurai's Destiny''. While the previous form was quite challenging based on how he stays away from Jubei and performs multiple type of attacks, he barely tries to defend in the final round. The UnexpectedGameplayChange also made the battle much easier.
** Guildenstern in ''Demon Siege''. He was never made out to be a fighter (he is a scientist, after all), but the fight with is still pretty easy even for that.

* BigLippedAlligatorMoment: Samanosuke's evil Genma-created doppelganger in the first game. It shows up out of nowhere for one cutscene, and the next time it appears is as a boss battle. In the entire rest of the game there is no mention of the Genma being able to create lookalikes of people, nor does one show up again.
* BreatherBoss: Tenkai in Dawn of Dreams due to his simple attacks.
* BrokenBase: Many regarding the ''Warlords'' remaster:
** Despite the below-listed FridgeBrilliance behind it, many fans are still rather split over whether or not remastering only the first game was a good idea. While many gamers are understandably excited, there are some good points to be made. For starters, a lot of people see it as a rather half-assed move on Capcom's part due to the fact that after almost 13 years of no word on the franchise's status (with some fans even ''petitioning'' for an [=HD=] collection of all 4, no less), a re-release of the first game was all we got. This is not helped by the fact that despite the game being almost 3 console generations old, nothing significant was done to the game besides adding analog control and touching up the visuals somewhat. This, combined with its incredibly abrupt and out-of-nowhere announcement, along with the recent surge in popularity of Samurai-based HackAndSlash games thanks to the unexpected success of ''VideoGame/{{Nioh}}'', has led some to believe Capcom is only remastering the game because it would be relevant, and nothing else.
** Even if Capcom is doing it to test the waters, which likely is their intention, some fans are understandably afraid of what will happen if it backfires. While it does enjoy a dedicated following, many have pointed out that ''Onimusha'' is, as far as general audiences go, a fairly niche series to begin with, especially amongst younger gamers who didn't grow up during the early [=PS2=] era, and that in the wake of more complex action games such as ''VideoGame/{{Bayonetta}}'' and Capcom's own ''VideoGame/DevilMayCry'' series, it might not have a place anymore. Basically, if the remaster doesn't sell well enough, fans fear Capcom will bury the series again, this time permanently, killing off any chance of the other 3 games getting remasters, let alone a new entry.
*** Now that the remaster is out, it appears that this has unfortunately proven to be true. While reviews are much better than you'd expect from a re-release of a nearly 18-year-old game with minimal changes, with scores ranging around 6-7, critics have ''also'' noted that while the game is still fun to play, it shows its age to the point that ignoring it is difficult, with some even going as far to say that it made them realize the ''original'' game was worse than they remember it. Moreover, fans have also stated that very few copies of the game showed up at their local retailers, a vague indicator that demand for the title is minimal. Combine that with its poor sales in Japan (28,000+ units in the first week for both the [=PS4=] and Switch versions '''combined''', before dropping off the top 20 soon after), and it's safe to say that the chances of the other games getting remasters will depend entirely on fan reception and Western sales.
** Fans are also split over whether or not excluding the ''Genma'' content from the Xbox port matters or not. Some are indifferent, some are glad they omitted it, while others are downright disappointed and hope that it gets released as [=DLC=].

* FridgeBrilliance: Many fans are puzzled that Capcom decided to remaster just the first game as opposed to a collection of all 4, but it actually makes a lot of sense. Not only is it a great marketing tactic to test the waters, but ''Warlords'' was also the only title in the series to be released on more than one console, with the ''Genma Onimusha'' port for the Xbox, making it more likely for non-[=PlayStation=] gamers to be familiar with it. This would not only explain why it's being remastered for all current consoles, but also why only the [=PS4=] and Xbox One versions are being released on disc: because the [=PS2=] and Xbox is where it originally appeared, and it would be an ''excellent'' throwback.
* GameBreaker: ''Dawn of Dreams'' introduces the ability to do chain attacks off level 1 magic attacks, rendering many other ways of starting a chain effectively pointless. This addition also makes level 2 and 3 magic far less useful by comparison (except for level 2 and 3 light magic, which is [[AntiAir one of few ways]] to deal with flying enemies).
** However, Issen attacks dealt with a level 1 magic are less effective and grant you less red souls than a properly used Issen attack. Nonetheless, you'll still likely earn more than enough to upgrade your weapons and stats however.

* HypeBacklash: While ''Demon Siege'' is praised for improving the gameplay and finishing the Nobunaga trilogy, producer Keiji Inafune himself noted that several fans were disappointed by how its story did not feel like a samurai tale which resulted in ''Dawn of Dreams'' removing its modern atmosphere.

** "Even if i die......I will DESTROY YOU!"- In the climactic scene of the first game, there is an awkward pause with Samonusuke's mouth still flapping in the English version since the words in Japanese are longer.

** GIANT PANDA SUIT!
** [[spoiler:Ekei's ridiculous-looking superimposed "tears" during his MyGreatestFailure flashback in the second game.]]
** Jubei and Oyu's interactions. Their dialogues can be quite cheesy most notably in the English dub.
** "You're too late Jubei. I've just transferred my power into this golden evil statue! Look at it." (This line feels funny because of the actor's emphasis in "Golden" and "statue")
*** The rest of the final battle from ''Samurai's Destiny'' has Nobunaga activating the mentioned golden evil statue with so many random noises that more than one will go WhatDoYouMeanItWasntMadeOnDrugs
** Jacques' character can be hard to take seriously simply because he was modeled after Jean Reno.

* SelfImposedChallenge: Due to how likeable he turned out to be, many players choose ''not'' to use the flute to disable Gogodantess's barrier in the final boss battle with him out of a sense of honor. It's still possible to beat him with it up in this fight unlike his other encounters but it ramps up the difficulty quite a bit.

* ThatOneBoss: The second fight with Marcellus in ''Warlords'' is often regarded as a harder fight than [[FinalBoss Fortinbras]]. Hecuba is also difficult, though not as hard.
** The God of Light in ''Dawn of Dreams'' is regarded as they single hardest fight in the series.
** The creepy doll from Genma Onimusha.
* TheScrappy: Jacques' son from ''Demon Siege'' is often regarded as this.
* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter: Again, Samanosuke really feels like an add-on compared to Jacques in ''Demon Siege''. If he didn't have to fight Nobunaga by game's end, you could take him and his segments out of the game and lose next to nothing plot wise.
* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot: Samanosuke's character in ''Demon Siege'' feels quite boring in comparison to Jacques'. He doesn't go through any sort of CharacterDevelopment or thoughts about the past. For example, his rivalry with Nobunaga, relationship with the Oni, or his feelings regarding Kaede's fate are never explored. Instead, the plot focuses on more Henri's complicated relationship with Michelle while Samanosuke barely speaks.
* TooCoolToLive: [[spoiler:Kaede, Gogodantess, Heihachiro and Soki.]]
* {{Wangst}}: Even though Kotaro knows the truth about what happened to his mother, his denial caused him to hate every single woman and even try to kill Oyu. To be fair, he knew Oyu's true identity and believed she was an agent.

Too early to tell if the chances really are that slim

*** Now that the remaster is out, it appears that this has unfortunately proven to be true. While reviews are much better than you'd expect from a re-release of a nearly 18-year-old game with minimal changes, with scores ranging around 6-7, critics have ''also'' noted that while the game is still fun to play, it shows its age to the point that ignoring it is difficult, with some even going as far to say that it made them realize the ''original'' game was worse than they remember it. Combine that with its poor sales in Japan (28,000+ units in the first week for both the [=PS4=] and Switch versions '''combined''', before dropping off the top 20 soon after), and it's safe to say that the chances of the other games getting remasters are currently extremely slim.

Basically, if the remaster doesn't sell well, fans fear Capcom will bury the series again, this time permanently, killing off any chance of the other 3 games getting remasters, let alone a new entry.

** ''Samurai's Destiny'' and ''Demon's Siege'' could give the player a chance to obtain either a white necklace/vest in the former/latter which allowed the player to regain health as long as they stood still. Yeah, it's a pace-breaker if you got hurt a lot, but if you don't mind waiting for a full recovery, these accessories were amazing for the player.
