* AdaptationDisplacement: Greg says in [[http://www.dawnsomewhere.com/2013/04/20/site-neglect/ this blog entry]] that this is happening to ''Rainbow Factory'', that an increasing number of people think that Greg created the story, and Aurora Dawn was stealing the idea from him. He attempts to rectify this by linking to the original fanfic, and vowing to credit Aurora the character as Aurora Dawn's creation every time she's used, such as in the short "Investment Losses".

* FandomRivalry: Has a pretty big one with ''WebVideo/FriendshipIsWitchcraft''. Especially when the creators attempted to do a crossover and failed.

Oh, and he had to admit that he was unable to complete the anticipated GrandFinale to ''Rainbow Dash Presents''. After Petirep went pro and left Dawn Somewhere, Greg (again with zero previous experience) had to teach himself how to draw and use Flash, but with the trade-off that the series would have to start over from the beginning. Anyone could be forgiven for responding to all that with ScrewThisImOuttaHere, but Greg is still making new episodes as of mid-2015.

An utterly horrified Twilight points out how this will not only incur the wrath of the tyrannical god-princess, but that said god-princess can (and does) provide better round-the-clock care for the bird than the pegasus could ever hope to achieve. [[spoiler:Naturally, Fluttershy's efforts are disastrous, and Celestia punishes her for the crime.]]

* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter: According to WordOfGod, Discord [[spoiler: was KilledOffForReal by Celestia, long before he had a chance to appear in the series proper]], partially to reinforce how confidant this version of Celestia is and Greg's worries that he would not be able to live of to all the hype for his version of Discord. Instead, Discord has apparently been replaced by [[UnexpectedCharacter Breezen]], a villain from Generation One.
* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot: If the above about Discord being [[spoiler: KilledOffForReal]] remains true, that means Fluttershy getting to help redeem him and making an actual friend for once, probably won't happen.

* LesYay: Pinkie Pie falls in love with Gilda's {{Jerkass}} tendencies, and she throws a party to try to tear her and Rainbow Dash apart.

* DeconstructiveParody: ''Captain Hook the Biker Gorilla'' can be seen as one of [[Fanfic/RainbowFactory the fic it parodies,]] as apart from being silly, it spends a lot of time poking holes in the entire concept of the fic, to the point of feeling like a TakeThat at times.
