* AuthorsSavingThrow: During the Stain arc, Emma Iveli, on a self-admitted whim, attempted to {{Nerf}} Izuku to reintroduce some drama into the story that was mitigated by him being so [[StoryBreakerPower over-powered]]. This decision proved to be ''extremely'' unpopular, as she failed to realize that an over-powered Izuku was one of the story's selling points. Many also felt that trying to introduce a WorfHadTheFlu[=/=]ForgotAboutHisPowers mechanic at this point was both cheap and pointless, as many of the opponents Izuku will face after Stain will be much stronger than the SerialKiller and pose a challenge for him even at full-strength. As a result, the following chapter saw her admit that the decision was a mistake and promise to end the plotline as soon as it was feasibly possible.

In addition, she threw in a SelfDeprecation gag by having Aiko tell Izuku "I really don't get your mental blocks…" during Chapter 44.

* AssPull:The author's attempt to nerf Izuku was done on a whim, largely to shock the audience and reintroduce some tension into Izuku's future fights. Much like most swerves, the majority of the readership hated it immediately, forcing the author to backtrack and promise to end the subplot as soon as it made sense plot-wise. [[spoiler:She did it during the battle against Muscular]].

** Izuku being born with Conqueror's Haki rather than One for All somehow mimicking it. For one thing, even with the recent revelation in the manga that [[spoiler:all the previous users' Quirks are stored in One for All]], One for All cannot actually mimic another Quirk on its own, let alone a power from another world. Knowing that, along with the fact that Izuku is Sanji's ''reincarnation'', not Sanji himself, it was fairly obvious how Izuku actually got this ability. [[spoiler:Katsuki, being Zoro's reincarnation and thus also familiar with the mechanics of Haki, quickly realizes that, and that the reason why Izuku himself hasn't figured that out is because of his low self-esteem]].

* CaptainObviousReveal: Priestess' latest incarnate is described in Chapter 34 as "a martial artist race car driving paleontologist teacher who became a superhero in his teens". Even though a name wasn't given, it was blatantly obvious that it was [[Franchise/PowerRangers Tommy Oliver]], as noted by the numerous readers who said as much in the reviews. To the point that this wiki explicitly names him as the past life of the thus far unnamed incarnate and the author didn't even try to deny it.
