* {{Squick}}: Théo looks like an adult and is (supposedly unknowingly) crushing on a 13-year-old. [[https://twitter.com/Thomas_Astruc/status/1237479698055049216 Thomas Astruc clarified that he's actually 16-18]], but that still isn't much better.

* FranchiseOriginalSin: This episode has the dubious honor of being the first to have Adrien/Cat Noir's UnintentionallyUnsympathetic nature on display (with him getting possessive over Ladybug and not apologizing for causing Théo's akumatization contrasting how the writers want us to sympathize with him over his heartache). While it was forgiven back then because the show was still new, repeated instances of this in later episodes (''especially'' in season 2 and 3) with no signs of him undergoing CharacterDevelopment ended up turning him into the huge BaseBreakingCharacter he is today.
** Similarly with Marinette, this episode largely started her BaseBreakingCharacter status by displaying her StalkerWithACrush tendencies. Her stealing Adrien's phone isn't portrayed as being in the right, what with Alya calling her out on it (though this comes across as hypocritical on Alya's part since she was the one in the first place who came up with the idea of Marinette getting to Adrien's phone and erasing it before he heard it, something she probably shouldn't have told her panic-spiraling best friend). Though her motive is different than what some of the fandom would portray: she ''isn't'' doing it to snoop through Adrien's messages or contacts, but rather solely to erase something that would embarrass herself. Doesn't change that she crossed some serious personal boundaries to do it, though.

Though her motive is different than what some of the fandom would portray: she ''isn't'' doing it to snoop through Adrien's messages or contacts, but rather solely simply done to erase something that would embarrass herself. Doesn't change that an embarrassing message from his answering machine). Again, it was forgiven because the show was still new and it was assumed she'd undergo character development (especially since the episode portrays the phone theft as wrong), but her continued stalker tendencies and the fact she crossed some serious personal boundaries never seems to do it, though.learn her lesson in later seasons turned her into as big of a BaseBreakingCharacter as Adrien.
