* CompleteMonster: [[ComicBook/AntMan Henry "Hank" Pym]], aka Giant Man from Earth-2149, is the GreaterScopeVillain of the entire metaseries and a former superhero who got [[TranshumanTreachery much worse]] during the Hunger Virus outbreak. After being infected, Pym kidnaps Black Panther to use him as a personal food supply and confesses to him that even if he would become human once again, he would [[ImAHumanitarian still eat human flesh]]. When Wasp finds out about this and is angry with him, he bites her head off without hesitation. After Magneto destroys a portal to other dimensions, Pym, along with the other zombies, devours him in a rage. When the Silver Surfer arrives on Earth, Pym devours him and proudly reveals this to the arriving Galactus, angering him. Having devoured Galactus, he, along with several other zombies, uses the received cosmic power to kill all other zombies on the planet, seize Galactus's ship and travel on it across the universe. Forty years later, having successfully devoured all life in the universe, they return to Earth to repair the destroyed portal in order to devour sapient beings from other universes. Teletransported to Earth-91126, Pym devours [[TheWatcher Uatu]], studies his technologies, and successfully turns the planet's population into zombies. Later, he betrays ComicBook/TheSentry and tries to use his powers to activate the portal. [[AdaptationalVillainy Selfish, merciless, and sadistic]], Pym never tried to redeem himself, although he had such an opportunity, and would destroy his allies when they [[YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness outlived their usefulness]] to make the multiverse his personal "All-you-can-eat-buffet".

* MoralEventHorizon: [[spoiler:Malcolm Cortez is a dickhead at times but does make reasonable good points about the zombies, considering that they are responsible for the near extinction of the human race and for the end of all galactic life. At the end, however, he is revealed to be responsible for the death of Black Panther’s son and Forge’s daughter, making their son an orphan, and tries to kill Black Panther. This ends up with him becoming a zombie, all because he wants to be on the throne, and swears to kill Black Panther’s grandson when he is old enough. He selfishly does not want to leave at all because he wants to rule over the survivors, and does not want to see any other universe because he prefers the one he’s got. He also viciously beats Forge up, if not straight up ''kills'' him, because he wants to bring his friends back]].

* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter: Kitty Pryde of Earth-Z gets an arc of her own in the third issue of ''Return'', having learned of zombies' existence thanks to the Zombie Spider-Man, and is left with the partially infected Wolverine of ''that'' universe (with the Earth-2149 counterpart having been slain just recently). Ultimately, she is shown to have been killed during a flashback in the final issue and only serves as another reason for the Earth-Z Wolverine to join forces with the Spider-Man.

He quickly gets his lay of the land and realizes that he was sent back in time, as this world's Peter Parker is attending college and a tablet that could reverse his zombification is on display at a museum. The Kingpin plans to steal the tablet and hire the Sinister Six to attack the campus.\\

As with the main continuity, his first target is the Blue Area of the Moon. However, when he arrives, he is shocked to see that the Inhumans have been turned into zombies.\\

In the middle of the fight, Hulk reverts back into Bruce Banner, who begs for help.\\

* AuthorsSavingThrow: According to Joe Quesada in one of his columns, Felicia Hardy has a twin sister named Felicity in the ''Marvel Zombies'' universe, who goes by "Night Cat." This is how there's a Black Cat lookalike in the crowd of surviving superheroes aboard the Helicarrier in ''Dead Days'', when an infected Black Cat is shown on the splash page in an early issue of ''Marvel Zombies Vs. Army of Darkness''.

** The fact that Spider-Man, by his own admission, ''really'' enjoyed eating [[spoiler:J. Jonah Jameson]] is definitely this.

* ShockingMoments: If overpowering and consuming the freaking '''Galactus''' like they did in the first series doesn't constitute as one, we don't know what does.

** Forge and Black Panther become friends during their time together on asteroid m and they take care of their grandson years later after Forge's daughter and Black Panther's son died which [[spoiler:Malcolm Cortez is the one who did it]] and though Black Panther gets angry with Forge for using his son's body to put the brain of Colonel America inside, he regrets what he just did and though he says he cannot forgive him yet for what he did along with Reynolds he apologises for punching him.
** Reynolds and Zombie Wasp become close over the decades they known each other and after Reynolds patches Wasp up he kisses her on the cheek that causes her to be confused which he explains that while everyone else has married and have families, he never did but he loves her despite being a zombie that causes her to kiss him back which though {{Squick}} that causes Zombie Luke Cage and Forge to be horrified by the sight of her kissing him is very cute because of the fact that she smiles as well.

** The PatientZero that crossed into the Marvel Universe and started the outbreak was originally supposed to be Franchise/{{Superman}} [[note]]changed to the Sentry to avoid a potential lawsuit[[/note]] - 14 years later, DC would release their own ZombieApocalypse story, ComicBook/{{DCeased}}, with the Man of Steel among of the the infected.

** Zombie Spider-Man is one of the few who regrets what he did and eventually decides to become a hero again having enough of Giant Man's insanity.
** Zombie Luke Cage despite eating people is very friendly with Zombie Spider-Man most of the time becoming his only friend during their time in space because of the fact that they tend to regret their actions the most out of their group even joining his friend in going against the others knowing that he is right that they need to stop with what they are doing.
** Fabian Cortez unlike his mainstream counterpart is far more heroic and is a {{Reasonable Authority Figure}} as he tells the others off for attacking the Black Panther unprovoked.

* HilariousInHindsight: Marvel has always said that the Ultimate and mainstream universes won't CrossOver (except of course when [[ComicBook/SpiderMen they did]]), as it would show that they had run out of ideas. The Marvel Zombies were introduced in the Ultimate universe, and then wound up crossing over with the mainstream universe during a ComicBook/FantasticFour arc (from when Storm and Black Panther were replacing Reed and Sue), and ''Marvel Zombies 3'' was about the Zombies trying to invade the mainstream universe. And then, in the 2015 ''Secret Wars'' CrisisCrossover event, they actually did meet up.

* FridgeHorror:
** Zombie Morbius impersonates the real Morbius for about two weeks. His disguise? A latex mask. Now, even in the comic, it was kinda obvious that there was a noticible difference between the real Morbius, who looks pretty ugly because he's a ButtMonkey, and zombie Morbius, who looks even worse because he's an zombie and a ButtMonkey. In that two week span, didn't anyone notice that Morbius looked a little different? Or maybe notice the smell a walking corpse must have made? Or that he looked uglier than usual? Or that his body temperature was a little colder than usual? The horror comes in when you realize that for no one to notice, Morbius, even "normal" Morbius, must be really, really ugly and smelly and cold for no one to notice that a freaking zombie replaced him!
** After over ''forty years'' of angsting over his fate every time he eats somebody, why did Spider-Man never kill himself? He knows that destroying the brain will work. It is possible that the Hunger Gospel simply won't ''let'' him.
** Some of the zombies try to resist the hunger and fail. While we know that a LOT of them obviously failed (Zombie Spider-Man, The Zombie Avengers, etc.), just how many exactly even bothered to make the attempt in the first place!?
** Since the zombies retain their hatred of people who they hated in life, that would certainly explain why most of the zombies on-panel were superheroes and only a few super villains zombified. Granted, most of the super-villains deserved their deaths, but the point still stands in that the offscreen deaths they did receive are most likely horrifying when you take into account what the zombies do to most non-zombies they find.
** Charles Xavier was mentioned as being eaten alive by the zombies. Just be glad that we NEVER got to see that on-panel.

* DarknessInducedAudienceApathy: ''Marvel Zombies'' is an unflinchingly bleak series from start to finish. The thought of many of Marvel's heroes being turned into flesh-eating killers who possess little of the traits that made them heroic in the first place is something that has made this series difficult for many casual fans to get into.
