** For his first few appearances, the Human Torch was dressed in a blue jumpsuit (eventually changed to a red one) which almost foreshadows the kind of uniform worn by the [[ComicBook/FantasticFour more famous Human Torch]] from decades later.

* CompleteMonster (all Vol. 1):
** Issue #28's "The Horror of the Haunted Cathedral": [[InsaneAdmiral Nazi General Henchel]], after fleeing from his superiors to escape death for his recent blunders, found a cursed parchment which transforms him and his men into [[NaziZombies livid and murderous zombies]]. Henchel names himself "Fuehrer of the Zombies", promising his men the death of millions of Americans, and to warm up he and his army slaughter an entire town and a military division.
** Issue #34's "The Curse of Professor Torture": The insidious [[AntagonistTitle Professor Torture]] makes good on [[NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast his chosen sobriquet]] by kidnapping the [[WouldHurtAChild sons]] of wealthy couples and [[TortureTechnician putting them through excruciating torture]], taunting their parents with pictures and ransom notes. More often than not the Professor simply [[CruelAndUnusualDeath tortures his victims to death]], ripping their arms off, mutilating them, boiling them in oil and--as he attempts to do to the Angel--subjecting them to the Iron Maiden.
** Issue 52's "Tyrants Must Die": [[InsaneAdmiral Colonel Von Kluk]] is a [[HeManWomanHater sexist pig]] of a Nazi who is trying to steal away massive food supplies from France, uncaring if the countryfolk suffer and starve. When [[Characters/InvadersFoundingMembers the Human Torch]] interferes in his business, Von Kluk threatens to kill every single female in the entirety of France, and though the Torch thwarts this scheme, Von Kluk resorts to kidnapping hundreds of [[WouldHurtAChild young children]] and threatening them. After torturing a French rebellion ally, Von Kluk uses the hostage children to force the Torch into surrendering himself, promising to spare the kids, but as soon as the Torch complies, [[ILied Von Kluk orders the children be slaughtered anyway]].
** ComicBook/NamorTheSubMariner:
*** Issue #41's "Metal Monsters": [[InsaneAdmiral Admiral von Roeder]] is a high-ranking [[ThoseWackyNazis Nazi]] dispatched by [[UsefulNotes/AdolfHitler the Führer himself]] to find and destroy Namor the Sub-Mariner. After quite literally crushing the information he wants out of [[WouldHurtAChild a young boy]] whose corpse he cruelly throws away like garbage, von Roeder decides to [[FinalSolution wipe out not just Namor but everyone associated with him]], invading Namor's undersea city in a giant mech and commanding his army to attack and kill everyone.
*** Issue #84's "Case of the Vanishing Venuses": [[GoodScarsEvilScars Sari Tartar]] is a disfigured film director intent on punishing all those she finds attractive, out of both [[DrivenByEnvy envy]] and pure spiteful [[{{Sadist}} sadism]]. Under the illusion of making a new film, Sari lures dozens of people into her clutches to enslave and [[ColdBloodedTorture torture]] them, [[WhipItGood using a whip]] to personally beat her captives to near-death on a regular basis. When Namor and his partners try to save her victims, Sari captures and subjects the heroic trio to torture before trying to kill them all.

* HilariousInHindsight: Early on, Timely Comics briefly considered changing their company name to Marvel Comics to coincide with this comic series success, but the change didn't stick at the time. Two decades later, they really would settle on the name of Marvel Comics.
