* BadassDecay: Amenadiel in Season 1 was a serious HeroAntagonist. Comes Season 2, he loses his powers, gets drunk at a party and is acting as Charlotte's pawn. Subverted in season 3 where despite losing his powers he still managed to be BadassNormal to kick [[spoiler:Pierce's ass when he challenges him for marking him ]]
** Fortunately by Season 4 he's [[spoiler:regained his wings and most of his powers]] due to the realization that angels [[ClapYourHandsIfYouBelieve self actualize and thus can cause themselves to fall]].

** A common criticism of the Lucifer/Chloe/Pierce LoveTriangle is that Lucifer's petty attempts on making himself look like a better choice that Pierce, makes Lucifer look more like a pathetic {{manchild}} throwing tantrums rather that the suave and charming casanova he was portrayed in the first seasons. Fortunately, he goes back to that characterization once the LoveTriangle is over.

** Many fans prefer to believe the show either ended in season 5 with [[spoiler: [[EarnYourHappyEnding Lucifer becoming God]] or with Season 4 [[spoiler: which also had a StarCrossedLovers BittersweetEnding [[FranchiseOriginalSin but for more logical and heartbreaking reasons]] ]] out of finding the final season to be a terrible conclusion for the characters

** If Season 6 happened then it ended with "Goodbye, Lucifer" before the {{cliffhanger}} where [[spoiler: he seems to stay out of his own will despite what Rory claimed]] which many fans feel it goes better with the show's themes that what happens in the following and final episode.
** Besides ignoring the ending, some fans ignore the episodes involving Chloe and Pierce getting enganged seeing this plot point as the ultimate example of forced romantic drama and {{Padding}}. With even those who otherwise like Season 3 admitting it was an unnecesary event.

** Rory quickly took [[spoiler: her mother's]] place as the most polarizing character in the show. A lot of fans see her an annoying {{Wangst}}y brat that keeps blaming Lucifer for things he hasn't committed yet (and doesn't plan to do), who is way too inmature for someone over 50 years and hates she gets [[SpotlightStealingSquad more relevance that anyone not called Lucifer and Chloe during the final season]]. While other fans think she has a legitimate reason to be angry, enjoy her dynamic with [[spoiler:her parents]] and argue detractors are a bit too harsh in her immaturity, considering it took the entire story of mankind for Lucifer to grow up of his worst tendencies. The overall concept of [[spoiler: Lucifer and Chloe's daughter from the future]] is divisive with opinions ranging from "[[NarmCharm an odd choice but it works with the story they were writting]]" to "[[{{Narm}} something out of a bad fanfic]]". The major point of contention with the character however is her role in the polarizing GrandFinale. Was she justified in [[spoiler: asking Lucifer to keep the time loop and abandoning her family for the sake of keeping her as she is now or did she doom their parents to living unhappy and unfilling lifes for extremely dumb reasons?]]

*** But the biggest one is him [[spoiler: ''somehow managing to kidnapp Rory'']]. Which is never explained and it happens off-screen. Even if you somehow buy the Daniel's memories explanation, he had no way of knowing where she was or that [[spoiler:the elephant tranquilizers could put her to sleep. And the last time we saw each character, Rory was flying away heavily implying she was going back to her time and Vicent was close to Trixie, Chloe's other daughter, which is human and therefore a much more easier target, leaving the impression that Trixie was meant to be kidnapped before they changed their mind at the last minute.]]

** [[spoiler: Lucifer deciding to go against becoming God is meant to be as a sign he hasn't found his true vocation yet, but the fact that he decides this after a whole war was fighted in his favour, one of her sisters was rendered DeaderThatDead and at the same time a potential Apocalypsis was about to happen (it was a false alarm but he didn't knew it at the moment) makes him look completely selfish and uncaring on how this choice would affect the people around him]]. Amenadiel even lampshades this but his points are dismissed by both Lucifer and the narrative.
