Does she really have Nagatsuki City's best interests at heart, or is she [[spoiler: just a power hungry ManipulativeBastard hellbent on destroying Kyoukai no Kanata? A strict but loving ParentalSubstitute to Hiro'omi and Mitsuki, or a horrible one for nearly getting her brother killed? Was she against Mirai wanting to sacrifice herself to stop it and try save Akihito, or was she glad to rid herself of two powerful threats with one stone?]] And so on.
** Yayoi Kanbara. A harmless BunnyEarsLawyer just trying to make her son happy, or a terrible mother with hidden motives of her own?
* AssPull: Some people accuse [[spoiler:Mirai's resurrection]] at the end of the series to be this, as it happens suddenly and with very little explanation.

** Opinion on the ending is divided, since [[spoiler:many fans are either pleased that the series ended on a happy note, or angry since they percieve Mirai's last minute resurrection as an AssPull.]]
* EndingAversion: Most fans agree that the series as a whole is at least SoOkayItsAverage, but the ending of the final episode left a sour taste in many fans' mouths.
* EnsembleDarkhorse: Ai is widely liked even by people who can't stand the show.
* HoYay: Hiromi's habit of teasing Akihito can be interpreted as this. Though one has to admit that he is a little ''too'' touchy-feely with "Akkey" for it to be merely normal teasing.
** Episode 7 takes this to a new high when Mirai (while freaking out) speculates who Akihito has in his apartment with him. He vehemently denies any name she says but when Hiroomi's rolls around he doesn't say anything. ''At all''.
*** It may be that he was just tired of her wildly flung accusations, since she had been running through the names of every person they knew before saying Hiroomi's name.
** Akihito jokes Hiroomi is falling in love with him, when he worries about how the Calm will affect Akkey in episode 8.
** In episode 9 Hiroomi seems to be the only one who actually puts an effort into saving Akihito from being killed by Mirai. He goes as far as to yell at Izumi while he is usually very quiet around her.

** After the BreatherEpisode that is episode 6, it steadily climbs, until it goes full throttle for the last ones.
* LesYay: Episode 5 focuses mostly on Mirai and Mitsuki hanging out together. It should be noted that the entire time she was with her, Mitsuki was ''blushing''.
** Whatever Izumi was up to in the beginning of episode 8.

** The past event that traumatized Akihito is never explored beyond a brief flashback.
*** Averted as of Episode 0 which reveals what happened [[spoiler: aka he nearly killed Hiroomi and is the reason behind those nasty scars on his back.]]
** Akihito's mother implies that there's something special about Akihito's birth, but she never explains it.
** What exactly the Spirit World Warriors Society is, why they are supposedly opposed to the Nase clan, and whether they were supporting Fujima or if he was a rogue agent.
** These will probably remain unanswered to those who do not read the light novels, if they've gotten to resolving these plots.
*** The problem is that the anime doesn't actually follow the light novels very closely.
* TearJerker: "Everybody is alone."

* WinBackTheCrowd: There were a lot of viewers who weren't big fans of the series until they saw Episode 10.

** Not to mention the fact that Akihito apparently pays good money for pictures of bespectacled hotties in Fanservice-y costumes. Though there's really not a whole lot of "covert" from Akihito, what with how he proudly proclaims his glasses fetish to the world. He even calls himself a pervert at some points.
** Mitsuki knows where to find a lot of BL Audiobooks to prank her brother with.

* DudeNotFunny: The scene when Akihito and Hiromi objectify Mirai ''right in front of her''.
** Mirai having to do rather risque photoshoots to make ends meet counts too.
