** [[RivalTurnedEvil Charles "Charlie" Hesketh]] is a [[EntitledBastard vindictive, elitist bully]] who was chosen to be a Kingsman candidate, before being rejected for being [[DirtyCoward willing to sell out the Agency when threatened]]. In response Charlie throws his hat in with [[Film/KingsmanTheSecretService Richmond Valentine]] and even attempts to sabotage Eggsy as he tries to stop Valentine's plan to wipe out most of humanity. Surviving, Charlie is recruited by the Golden Circle and assists with Poppy Adams's scheme to hold hundreds of millions hostage with her drug; he hacks into the Kingsman servers and allows for the entire organization to be purged so Poppy's plan could begin. Later on, Charlie personally destroys an entire building [[BadBoss filled with his fellow Golden Circle members]], including his own girlfriend for cheating on him, just to keep the heroes from getting the antidote. In the film's climax, Charlie tries to make a run with the case that can release the antidote before laying a brutal beatdown onto Eggsy.

Either it's great having him back to fight alongside Eggsy, or his revival [[DeathIsCheap cheapened]] his sudden and tragic demise. ** Charlie's execution at Eggsy's hands though is immensely satisfying. Eggsy then lists off all the people close to him who died because of Charlie and then summarily snaps his neck.

* IdiotPlot: The movie's plot simply seems to rely on having Eggsy making uncharacteristically stupid decisions drive it forward, making him come off as an incompetent Kingsman whose actions end up causing more harm than good. Druglord (lady?) Poppy isn't much better, as her plan somehow include killing off her own consumers. Even the U.S. President calls her stupid.

* IdiotPlot: The movie's plot simply could have been completely avoided had Eggsy actually acted like the elite superspy he was trained to be. In the opening minutes of the film, he leaves Charlie's robotic arm unsupervised in his car rather than confiscate it despite barely surviving an assassination attempt. This allows Charlie to control the arm remotely to hack the Kingsman network and bring down the whole organization, kicking off the plot. But there are also numerous other moments that start unnecessary subplots:
** Eggsy needs to engage in sexual relations with another woman to plant a tracker on her, and yet feels the need to call Tilde to get her permission, endangering a mission in which hundreds or even thousands of people have already died for. All this succeeds in doing is getting Tilde to break up with him and he plants the tracker anyways. This
seems to rely on having be a contrivance to put Tilde in enough emotional distress to unknowingly take some of Poppy's tainted drugs.

Eggsy making uncharacteristically stupid decisions drive for some reason taking only one sample of the antidote when he was surrounded by crates of the stuff, and then getting it forward, making broken when he ''takes the antidote out of its protective case'' for absolutely no reason, forcing him come off as an incompetent Kingsman whose actions end up causing more harm than good. Druglord (lady?) Poppy isn't much better, as her plan somehow include killing off her own consumers. Misuse. It's not really all that strange in context, at least not compared to some of the other stuff in the film. The shouting at his friends/Tilde's parents in itself is precisely the gag, and there wouldn't be much reason for it to come up again afterwards anyway, since it's immediately followed by Eggsy losing his friends and his dog.

Any drama or tension from Eggsy's outburst at the parents is never followed up on, while the plot thread of his friend finding his gadgets gets cut short thirty seconds later when [[spoiler:Eggsy's apartment is blown up.]]

** The film features a handful of scenes that Creator/ColinFirth himself pointed out to be parallels to/gags about his own experiences with his then-wife, the Italian director Livia Giuggoli (e.g. Eggsy learning a different language to impress his Swedish girlfriend's parents, or Firth's character Harry Hart speaking subpar Italian). However, it can be difficult to watch those now knowing that Firth and Giuggoli would divorce in 2019.

** With the huge amounts of LampshadeHanging and often RealityEnsues moments in the last film, you'd expect the sequel to have ''some'' acknowledgement of how the world is recovering from Valentine's HatePlague, maybe even tie it into the plot in some way? Well, the best we get is Poppy kidnapping Elton John in the confusion. We don't even get to see the Statesmen's full reaction to the V-Chip incident besides a small response to the church scene. Did they get affected and nearly kill each other, or find some way to avoid getting affected? We'll never know, at least in this movie.

* {{Narm}}:
** In the first film, the pub fight scene was instigated by friends of Eggsy's abusive father looking to seek revenge for Eggsy wrecking their car. In ''The Golden Circle'', the bar fight scene is instigated by a bunch of nameless random cowboys who suddenly decided they don't like British people who earlier didn't have any gripe with the group. While it serves to show how much damage Harry's cognitive abilities have taken, it feels so incredibly forced, especially when compared to its predecessor and its CatharsisFactor.
** Eggsy cutting his way out of his trunk in the opening car chase would be badass, except that he does it with his shoe knife, and the blade somehow comes straight out of the seat. It's hard to imagine what sort of position he has to be in for that, especially in so small a space.
