* CultClassic: With a deceptively simplistic battle system and mediocre in-game graphics even for its time, sales for Kartia weren't too high initially. But players found the gameplay was surprisingly deep, had likable characters, two good concurrent storylines and character artwork by Yoshitaka Amano. This raised its status and demand was such that Atlus re-released the game in 2000.
* GameBreaker: The secret Pair rune, if you meet the conditions and earn this rune then you'd have to deliberately lose to not beat the game. This rune allows you to create the Fynus phantoms which dominate everything in the game. Other gamebreakers include earning equipment made from Level 20 Phantoms and the arena equipment, especially the Excalibur which hits hard and completely heals you after each attack.

* OnlyTheAuthorCanSaveThemNow: [[spoiler: Saradiart is so unbelievably powerful that it takes an Original Kartia to kill him ''once'', and he can clone himself. There's simply no way that Toxa and co. are anywhere in his league, so Mona has to use elf magic herself to stop him.]]
