* FightSceneFailure: Prometheus easily defeating the Justice League is supposed to make him look awesome, but the fact that a villain with no powers easily defeats so many characters by throwing one gadget after another, barely moving while the heroes run at him one at a time, just makes the fight looks silly and the heroes look incompetant.

* KarmicOverkill: At the end of the story, Oliver kills Prometheus, a villain who, among other things, had maimed Oliver's son Roy Harper, killed Lian, Roy's daughter and bombed Star City. After this, Oliver hunts down and kills any villains who allied with Prometheus, which the story treats as him having fallen from grace (since superheroes, particularly in the DC universe, are generally not supposed to kill people). For this, he is rebuked by his JLA teammates, his wife Dinah leaves him, and he is banished from Star City.

*** Keep in mind that when Grant Morrison wrote this version of Prometheus in their run on JLA he managed to successfully incapacitate Steel, Martian Manhunter, Huntress, and Batman, and through bravado and traps was able to force the Justice League into not attacking him, and the only thing that defeated him was Catwoman deciding that she wanted to rob the JLA that day and sneaking aboard. The difference between then and now is that Prometheus had to commit subterfuge and deception in order to even begin his plan in JLA, splitting them up so as to overpower them without reinfrcement, whereas here the Leaguers run at him in a straight line, with Prometheus not even moving from his spot.

** As mentioned on the trivia page, while he did do a fairly lackluster job overall, was not James Robinson's fault (ExecutiveMeddling strikes again!), although it's one of the first things people usually blame him for.
** A fair number of fans, and even people who aren't comic book readers, have conceded that Robinson's statement at San Diego Comic Con 2010 that he was inspired to cut off Roy Harper's arm as a tribute to Iraq war veterans by creating a superhero with a prosthetic that's not cybernetic was both in very bad taste and an utter dick move, regardless if this was honesty, a bold-faced lie, or something his editors told him to say. He contradicted this statement in the introduction of Cry's trade paperback, saying that the editors told him they wanted to put Roy in this direction. He also made absolutely no mention of his statement at San Diego.

* VillainSue: A lot of Prometheus' time in this mini is over compensating for his previous VillainDecay by making him nigh-unbeatable to a point where it was no-longer believable: he pulls out a ridiculously complex GambitRoulette, Curb-Stomps the whole league of his own and was somehow able to create a device that would resist to all their powers, including the Shade (who he was explicitly stated to not have studied before because he was a former villain). This becomes even more ridiculous when .
