* AwesomeButImpractical: Hirohiko Araki has admitted that he came up with the concept of Stands because he didn't believe in people possessing superpowers; he didn't think people could carry out special feats, but he believed they could use their chi/spirit to do so. So while the Stands look beautiful and stylish, it would have saved effort to have their users actually carry out their abilities.

** With some exceptions, Stands are just mindless automatons. Fans love to give them a personality, like Killer Queen acting like a cat, or The World being Jonathan mindless spirit. In fact, some fans even like to portray King Crimson as the true villain of Part 5, being a Stand that gained control of its user, like Anubis. It helps that Diavolo backstory is pretty ambiguous.

* TakeThatScrappy: Steely Dan for the sake of money, attempts to kill Joseph for his own personal amusement, beats a child to demonstrate how his Stand works, forces Jotaro to rub his back, polish his shoes, and act as a bridge, and frames him for stealing a necklace. There's a good reason why Jotaro beating him down and then tossing a bill at him is one of the best parts of Stardust Crusaders.

** Among DIO's henchmen in Stardust Crusaders, it is very hard to find fans of Steely Dan and Alessi. Steely Dan is an unpleasant Jerkass whose frequent bullying of Jotaro got irritating, ended up being a DirtyCoward. Alessi on the other hand is highly disliked for being a creepy child abuser, turning an innocent woman , only allying himself with DIO for the money and some have even seen him as an unnecessary tonal shift.

** The name of the eye beam attack that Dio and other vampires use is Space Ripper Stingy Eyes. Yes REALLY.

*** Thanks to Diamond is Unbreakable there has been an increase in the amount of JJBA fans who are also fans of Manga/YuYuHakusho which ran in Shonen Jump while Diamond is Unbreakable was publishing and featured similar themes. Years down the line Diamond is Unbreakable would also produce an example of this trope with , with the fourth game in particular having the most overlap because of their similarities as noted below.

* ValuesDissonance: Giorno and Bruno are involved in the mafia, which is guilty of a wide swath of terrible deeds, such as the murder of innocents, blackmail, extortion, and assassination. Yet for them the big crossing of the MoralEventHorizon comes from gang members selling drugs to children. While most Westerners can agree that it's terrible, they wouldn't consider it as so much necessarily worse than those other things combined either. Part of this can be explained by Japan and the almost all the Asian continent,Barring Israel, Yemen and North Korea. having a much stronger stigma against drug usage than most countries in the West, to the point that even minor marijuana offenses face steep sentences.
