There's no proof of Araki reacting negatively to the Phantom Blood movie.
* TheyChangedItNowItSucks: The Stardust Crusaders [=OVAs=] sometimes get this reaction for altering all battles except one, being much more serious in tone, and having grittier character designs. On the other hand, it's pretty much universally agreed that the D'Arby the Gambler episode, which was perfectly faithful to the manga (it even changed the art style to Araki's) save for one plot detail at the very end, is awesome. David Production even made a homage to it by casting Creator/BanjoGinga as D'Arby as a replacement for the late Creator/KenjiUtsumi (both are famous for playing Manga/FistOfTheNorthStar villains Souther and Raoh). ** Araki himself reacted this way to the Phantom Blood movie, which was created by the people behind the [=OVAs=]; among other things, Speedwagon only appears as a mugger, Dire and Straizo are removed entirely, the concept of Hamon was not properly explained.

** Tarkus crushing the remains of his friend Bruford after his death and mocking his weakness, revealing that he'd given himself over to Dio's control entirely (whereas Bruford at least remained a NobleDemon) surely counts.

** Tarkus crushing the remains of his friend Bruford after his death and mocking his weakness, revealing that he'd given himself over to Dio's control entirely (whereas Bruford at least remained a NobleDemon) surely counts. Goes into an in-universe edition when he , so as far as Jonathan is concerned, all bets are off.

* BadassDecay: Joseph in Part 3. Somewhat justified since he's an old man by that point and is not the main [=JoJo=] of his part, but it's still frustrating to see the guy that took down Wham and Esidisi struggling so much to fight the enemy Stand users. Even more increased and further justified by Part 4, where he's going senile and generally deliberately omitted from the action. He's pushing 80 and retired by then.

** Jotaro doesn't come out smelling like roses either. It's uncommon (in Japan at least) to have Jotaro's aggression/and or protectiveness raised to Yandere levels at times.

*** It's even worst if he's paired with Dio, were he fall for him despite everything Dio has been trying to do to kill him and the crusaders. Ofter these stories paint Kakyoin as giving himself to Dio willingly, giving him something that resembles StockholmSyndrome. ** Jotaro doesn't come out smelling like roses either. Lipstick is the most prevalent in official and fanarts of parts 6 & 7 while there are only a few examples from the other parts (e.g. the Pillar Men, DIO, Rohan)
* Fanon: There's no real 100% agreed upon color/style for any character in further parts, but in fan coloration and fanart it's very common to see everyone wearing lipstick.
