** Act 2 fully introduces the four "currencies" -- Blood, Bones, Energy and Mox -- and has them all interact at once. Act 1 focuses on Blood and Bones, while Act 3 focuses on Energy and Nox. The game never gets the chance to spotlight any other interesting combinations of currencies, such as Bones and Energy, Nox and Blood, etc. in their own dedicated acts.

* RonTheDeathEater: Magnificus is the one who saves everyone from Leshy's cabin, was in the middle of planning a way to beat P03's Grand Transcendence plot before being glitched away, and most of the time he's quite cordial with both the player and the other Scrybes, even surviving the deletion of the game through sheer will just so he can try and shake your hand. Despite these fairly clear-cut positive qualities, fans generally home in on the [[SinkOrSwimMentor brutal tests he puts his students through]], and use that as basis to frame him as a sadistic monster, with some going a step further and reinterpreting his final moments as the act of cowardly narcissist trying to save his own skin.

** Luke "the Lucky" Carder. Even with the ability to skip the [[VideoReviewShow raw footage for his card pack opening channel]], he leaves a bad impression on the people who were interested in this game [[NeverTrustATrailer for what it was presented as]]. His over-the-top reactions to getting a good card or flubbing a play (that is, when [[PlayerAndProtagonistIntegration ''you'' pick a good card or flub a play]]) can be very grating, and his blase gamer commentary during Act 3 tends to take you out of [[SeriousBusiness the drama of the situation]]. There are even some fans who either dropped the game or never want to replay it because of him.
** P03, the Scrybe of Technology. Despite the player's assistance in freeing him and the others from Leshy's reign, that doesn't stop him from snarking at your expense constantly, especially once Act 3 starts. He eventually gets his comeuppance at Leshy's hands, but while almost every other main character dies by the end, P03 managed to escape and got exactly what he wanted. Of course, his [[AwesomeEgo snark]] and [[MagnificentBastard master planning]] means he has [[LoveToHate plenty of fans that love him for these reasons as well]].

Murdering psycopath? Leshy never attempts to actually harm anyone, he explicitly knows that the real player is sitting safely on the other side of the fourth wall. The worst thing he actually does is capture the other scrybes

** Leshy treats the player very differently in the endgame than during Act I, ditching his KillerGameMaster persona. He even reacts to the deletion of the scales by saying you can just play without keeping score. This leaves a question of which persona was real and which was an affectation. Is the real Leshy a friendly performer who put on a creepy face to give the player a good experience, or a murdering psychopath who expresses contrition only when he knows he's doomed?

Transferred funny moments to their own tab

* SugarWiki/FunnyMoments:
** In Act 1, if you use the [[EyeScream Special Dagger]] and pick the goat eye after the battle ends, the Black Goat's icon inexplicably [[https://inscryption.fandom.com/wiki/Black_Goat becomes cuter]], gaining a blush and anime eyes among other things.
** One rare card occurrence can happen if you get or make a card with the Fledgling and Dam Builder sigils on it--the dams the card summons will also be Fledgling cards, making them grow into more powerful forms after a turn passes. The stronger dam that results from this is titled [[{{Pun}} Goddam]].
** Amidst the mystery and horror within Luke's video logs, there's one short clip which is just Luke buying the hardware he needs to run the ''Inscryption'' floppy disk. Luke even {{Lampshade|Hanging}}s the pointlessness of him recording this. "Great video!" indeed.
** In Act 2, choosing the Beast or Dead starting deck will have a tutorial pop up that starts to explain their summoning conditions... in other words, Blood/Bones, which you just spent an entire Act using. Leshy/Grimora will note you looking bored, realize you already know how they work, and leave.
** During the Finale, Grimora's Pirate boss fight starts with bombastic music and cannons falling from the sky, only to be cut short as her mask is deleted.
** In Kaycee's mod, the Fecundity sigil took a huge nerf (any creature put in your hand by Fecundity will not have the Fecundity sigil). What makes it funny is both Leshy's reaction and the particular bit of code text in the bottom left.
--> Z:[=FloppyDisk=]/KAYCEEMOD: // It had to be done.
--> Z:[=FloppyDisk=]/KAYCEEMOD: [=RemoveSigilFromCopy()=]
--> Z:[=FloppyDisk=]/KAYCEEMOD: DEPLOY SIGIL NERF: FECUNDITY
** The [=DevLogs=] in Kaycee's Mod contain several.
*** Entry #05 explains how, despite the new Inscyption with Leshy in charge is strange and inexplicable, she's enjoying the game a ton and has resolved to mod it to make it more balanced. She's a true game developer.
*** Entry #06 narrates how annoyed Kaycee was to find that Leshy is using the skull of the ghoul that was given her name... as a receptacle for spare teeth. She also finds going to collect them after each boss fight to be tiresome and has resolved to mod that out despite how much it will displease Leshy.
*** Entry #07 contains an ominous discussion of her discoveries concerning the OLD_DATA, ending with an aside that she's now finished the boss totems challenge.
*** Entry #08 narrates how she met an annoying card game player at a tournament who insisted on filming the match for his youtube channel, presumably [[ConnectedAllAlong Luke Carder]].
*** Entry #09 describes how she found P03's card which asked for her help. Her response is to laugh and hand it over to Leshy (who she enjoys playing with and considers kind of a friend).
** The fight against Royal Dominguez in the ''Kaycee's Mod'' when he turns his ship, the Limoncello, into the Moon's replacement. Not only are there skeletons partying on the deck of the card, every turn any open spots on your board will be filled with mutineering skeletons who attack the ship while Royal complains.

* JerkassWoobie: P03 is definitely a complete bastard, but its desire to leave the other Scrybes behind is at least a little bit understandable given that one of them had spent who knows how long using it as a plaything in his version of the card game, where it likely had to experience the feeling of dying an uncountable number of times. It might have gone better if he wasn't such an UngratefulBastard to the player who helped him, though.He's become a bit of a tyrant about it, but his desire to take over as the new game master instead of becoming the challenger's side character makes a lot of sense for this reason. Grimora and Magnificus spent most of their time as cards safely stored away; the Stoat is in every challenger's starting deck, and, as Leshy reminds the player, the cards' suffering is real. Given that P03 is used to living as a machine, experiencing the pain of death and sacrifice as an organic creature in Leshy's game is also probably more unfamiliar for him and harder to take than it is for the other Scrybes.

* LikeYouWouldReallyDoIt: Despite P03's warnings, the computer files you use to create a card during the Archivist battle do ''not'' get deleted when they die. It simply creates a text file on your hard drive, saying that P03 could not get clearance to modify the file, and that the player should delete it themselves if they really respect the game's rules.
** Funnily enough, if you actually do delete it during the fight, P03 ''will'' be surprised that you actually did it.

* LoveToHate: P03 is easily the most dickish of the four scrybes. He's rude and callous, but fans adore the guy because of his over-the-top condescending personality, which also makes him the funniest character in the game.

* SelfImposedChallenge: Kaycee's Mod introduces a set of optional modifiers you can use to make the run more difficult, and you're encouraged to complete runs with increasing numbers of challenge points. Some just increase enemy difficuly or take away elements (fewer items, no rare boss rewards or extra lives etc.) but others introduce additional challenges like giving your Squirrels the Waterbourne sigil (so they can't be used to block attacks) or making every boss summon the two rows of bears that would normally only appear if the player went through the story too quickly.
