** Some aspects of the film already looked dated when it came out, given it was shot in 2007. Most of the young cast still had landline phones in their homes, and had work numbers that they gave to dates. The film shows voicemail as the primary communication method, and the existence of text messaging is only briefly mentioned. Mary's rant about being rejected on seven different devices also became dated fairly quickly when smartphones consolidated it down to one for most people.
** This film also came out at the latest possible time anyone was still using [=MySpace=].

* UnfortunateImplications: Alex tells Gigi that Connor is [[TitleDrop just not that into her]], which is true and she needed to hear it, since Gigi has a habit of getting kinda stalker-y towards men she's interest in. However, Alex then tells Gigi that if a man wants to be with you, ''he will make it happen''. He gives examples like calling every florist in the city until he found the right one and comments on a LoveTriangle he spots across the bar, criticising a woman for talking to a guy who obviously isn't interested her while ignoring the DoggedNiceGuy. But the way he phrases all this makes it sound like he's trying to say that only ''men'' [[NoGuyWantsToBeChased should pursue a relationship and it's creepy for women to do it]], but a man chasing after a woman who isn't interested is acceptable. Of course, Alex is later shown to be pushing Gigi away because he doesn't want to admit he likes her beyond JustFriends, but his advice to her is generally treated as worldly wisdom and not a ridiculous DoubleStandard.

* UnintentionallyUnsympathetic: Everyone in the Anna/Ben/Janine triangle:
** Janine: Willfully ignored from the very beginning that Ben wasn't that interested in her and essentially forced him into marriage by giving him an ultimatum.
** Ben: Didn't have the balls to tell Janine that he wasn't that interested in her and married her rather than breaking up with her, then cheated on her rather than having the balls to divorce her first.
** Anna: Yes, the ClosetShuffle Ben pulls on her is humiliating. But she was fully aware that she was sleeping with a married man. Did she really expect him to be faithful to ''her''?

BrokenAesop: Neil and Beth's storyline- when Beth leaves Neil and then realises that she loves him and he's a much better partner than her sister's lazy husbands, takes him back after accepting that they don't have to get married and that their relationship was fine before...only for that to totally get undone when Neil does propose to her, even if he was the one against it in the first place.
